Perfect Marriage Revenge: Episodes 9-10

It’s the penultimate week of our drama, and we’ve reached a fever pitch of birth secrets, big reveals, twists, and back-stabbings. There’s more plot than can fit comfortably — but then again, that’s half the fun.

EPISODES 9-10

Perfect Marriage Revenge: Episodes 9-10

Secrets, secrets, and more secrets! As we have come to learn, every evil can be traced back to Mom — no matter how far back we go — and this week, even her slimy daughter Yoo-ra is shaken by the lows her own mother is capable of.

To start things off, Yi-joo learns about the fire that nearly killed her and her mother back before she was slapped into the orphanage. Thanks to her intel, Do-gook, and our silent and sexy Secretary Kim, we learn it was all Mom’s doing. The guilty man — also her ex-lover — is fresh outta prison, and though he’s not immediately convinced by Do-gook’s offer, eventually he agrees to wear a wire tap and help them get incriminating evidence on Mom. Meanwhile, Mom is plotting a whole new level of villainy: she wants to pay Fire Guy to kill Yi-joo for keeps this time.

All this talk of ~deadly fire~ and yet our reveal of Yi-joo’s real mom as chaebol culinary instructor JAMIE (Jin Hee-kyung) hit me like a ton of bricks. What the what! You mean that’s why this woman has been hanging around needlessly in the plot all this time? (How did I not suspect this.)

Yi-joo is a lot of fun to watch put all these pieces from her past together, whether she’s horrified, furious, or just emotionally overcome. True to style, she confronts her real mom Jamie straight away, and though it’s a bit rough, the two eventually hug it out. This is dramaland after all, and two wronged heroines who had their lives destroyed must join forces. There’s just nothing like that level of poetic justice.

And so, join forces they do. Turns out Jamie is a shareholder of Hanwool… but she’s bought just enough to keep her off the radar: until now. Now, in the middle of Mom’s savage takeover, everything blows up.

Mom is standing on the platform preparing for her moment of glory when she’s shocked to see Secretary Kim swagger in with Grandpa, who’s in major huff and addresses the crowd. He’s the majority shareholder, he doesn’t have dementia, and he’s giving all his shares to his eldest granddaughter Yi-joo. *Gasp*

Yi-joo — and I love her for this — quickly wins over the entire room saying she’ll own the company, but not run it. She’s more than happy to hire an actual CEO to do that. She says all the problems in her life came from chaebol greed, and she wants to put an end to it. (And if there were any other characters in dramaland who felt this way and actually acted on it… well… we’d be straight out of plot for about 82% of all dramas.)

Perfect Marriage Revenge: Episodes 9-10

Having her real mother back her up at the shareholder meeting is a moment for Yi-joo, as is getting recognized publicly by her grandfather — but there’s also the big birth reveal to her father. Prior to the shareholder meeting, Yi-joo met with him, spilled all the ugly beans on her true identity, told him that Mom is trying to kill him with those all-too-familiar pills, and then gave him the results of the DNA test she ran. After adequately going through his range of emotions, he runs his own DNA test, accepts the truth, and the whole family essentially goes up in smoke. Indeed, there’s a glorious scene where everyone from Hanwool is at home, and the truth comes out. Mom is the terrible villainess, and in his rage, Dad splashes her with some tea from his cup. True punishment.

Mom flees to a motel with Fire Guy a.k.a. JO DONG-SOO (Kim Jung-tae) and his entrance into our main plot starts to have some serious ripple effects. In all of this mayhem, Yoo-ra is distraught and still clinging to the Jung-wook marriage to save her. When she winds up pregnant, she’s horrified it’s all gone awry, but Mom rejoices: this is exactly the leverage Yoo-ra needs to worm her way into Taeja! Alas, Yoo-ra is as quick as Yi-joo to know when something’s up, and she soon realizes that the “Marry me, I’m pregnant with your heir” card was previously deployed by her mom to marry into Hanwool. And yeah, Fire Guy is actually her biological father. LOL! The utter disgrace!

I never thought I’d say this, but I actually found myself feeling bad for Yoo-ra. She’s really just a product of her mother and her schemes, and when she learns this week about her mother’s true evil colors, Yoo-ra’s world shatters. Is this the end of her villain arc? Or will she continue on with Jung-wook and try to win the Taeja throne? (As for him, I’m still finding him too likable to be any real threat.)

Perfect Marriage Revenge: Episodes 9-10

Finally finally finally, we get to spend some time with the utter delight that is the Taeja fam. I was not prepared to wait until midway into Episode 10 to finally get into their parlor, but it’s sure fun when we do. They’re all so sharp and so disgusted by the Hanwool drama. I can’t think of a chaebol family that I have enjoyed more than this one.

But it’s also here that I’ll lodge my complaint about this week’s episodes: the romance is practically forgotten, and Do-gook has been relegated to the emotional support animal. He shows up for Yi-joo when she needs help or support. He cuts deals for her, does legwork for her, and offers copious amounts of hugs. None of these things are bad, per se, but why are they still sleeping in separate rooms? Why aren’t we seeing Yi-joo and Do-gook as true partners, banding together to stay alive and stay together? For me, the drama missed out on a really fun angle here — they could have bonded even more over their impending death dates, and the revenge journey would have been all the sweeter.

That being said, we did get some cute moments (besides the hugs), with Do-gook asking them to officially register their marriage, and hinting around that they should start a family (they should). I also really enjoyed Do-gook’s scene where he was trying to turn Fire Guy to their side, offered him double what Mom was giving him, and then had this silent moment of agony when he heard that Yi-joo was on his hit list. More of that, Show, please!

Heading into our finale episodes, we’ve left off with quite the cliffhanger. Mom and Fire Guy are driving to the nursing home which has been where all the fake Sun Jin paintings are kept. Yi-joo has figured this out (much to Secretary Kim’s utter heartbreak lol), and she’s already onsite when Mom approaches. “Run her over!” she commands Fire Guy. And he guns it! What a psycho! But the other person who’s also gunning it is Do-gook, approaching in a car from the other direction.

So yeah, this whole thing is coming full circle, and next week is sure to be full of a final dose of defeat and humiliation for Mom. And hopefully some babies for our OTP. Or you know, if we can’t have babies, I’ll just settle for a nice fleshed-out explanation of Do-gook’s side of the story. I want to know when he fell for Yi-joo, and when he concocted his own plan. I’ve been waiting for the drama to connect on this ever since Do-gook’s early hint-dropping, and I won’t be sorry if we spend most of our finale on it next week.

The makjang was cranked up to level 1000 in this weeks episodes and it was glorious.

An attempted murder, the birth secrets, the pregnancy reveals,Jung-hye finally getting exposed, the snarky housekeeper making her comeback, it was all hilarious.

The pacing is literally at breakneck speed, if you blinked you"d miss something lol.

We had very little time with our OTP but the small scenes we had were adorable.

P.S. Manager Kim got to do things this week and had more dialogue, which somehow made him even hotter

I always feel like cackling and rubbing my hands together in glee while I watch this show — they even have the music of dread and the car of doom descending upon our heroine as she stands like an idiot in the middle of the street.

Look both ways people! It’s not hard! Cars don’t always stop at crosswalks!

But evil moms face in the passenger seat was just the best! I love this ridiculous show.

I'm not as hooked on this dramas as some of you but I was riveted by this week's episodes (as was my husband, who in the past found this drama too cheesy). I'm actually feeling bad for Yu-ra--she didn't stand a chance with a mother like that. I also love how everyone's mind is BLOWN by the thought of an outsider managing a company.

The ending scene was actually pretty much how she died in the comic (freezing on a crosswalk), which I thought was interesting.

One thing though, I hate when the ML or FL has a secret and the drama drags it out until the very end.

I really pitied Yoo-ra as she got to learn what her mom regards her as - a pawn to be used to upscale herself in society. In that moment I wondered if she did birth Yoo-ra herself cause I freaking get it if you're manipulative to your step daughter, but to your own daughter, that's several levels of yuck.

So much happening. So much SATISFACTION. the tag line for this drama should be Satisfaction Guaranteed. Let's wrap this up well writer-nim.

I will be 0% surprised if Jong-wook/Steel Leg already knows he can't be the baby-daddy because he tragically can't father children thanks to that accident (leg, reproductive system, all in the same neighborhood, right?) and is playing along until he sees where his greatest advantage lies.

At every decision point, the show has asked itself "is this makjang enough?" and has answered itself "no, it is not, we must be more makjang." And a birth secret with its own birth secret is the most makjang-est, right?

For the first time, Yoo-ra is hit with something that's so hard to the point where I actually did feel for her in those moments. Her world crumbled in the meanest way possible. I'm not referring to the aftermaths of Yi-joo's comeback here, I'm referring to the side of her mother that she came to know. I'm sure Jung-hye is Yoo-ra's birth mother. But to regard her as a piece amongst her pawns...I sort of felt for Yoo-ra here.

Is Jung-wook playing along with the pregnancy? He seems to be thinking like Jung-hye in this regard of he knows he's not the one responsible for it.

Yi-joo's mom. I don't like how Yi-joo handled the whole thing. I get that Yi-joo might have been robbed off venting her anger on her mom, but she can do that at another time.

So we didn't have enough Lee Mi-sook this week. I guess they're saving the choicest part of the cookie for the finale. I can't believe the finale is upon us already 😭.

So, the drawing Do-guk stumbled upon that caused Yi-joo's death actually plays out again in this second chance at life. Now I know why he was driving the car. He was trying to save Yi-joo's life in her first life and lost his in the process.

Thanks for the recap, @missvictrix!

A bit of speculating … didn’t it strike anyone else as odd that Do-gook looked as if he knew that painting his wife so very much wanted to get back, when it was sold by her evil stepmother? This had apparently a much larger size than her other paintings …

Also, he was obviously driving in the opposite direction (i.e. back to the gallery presumably) when Yi-joo hit his car and both spun around to then be hit by the truck in EP 1.

Thirdly, when he commented on her remarks about love being absolutely valid in the gallery in EP 1 (prompted by a sarcastic comment of her evil step-sister, his «fiancée» at the time), in hindsight, I was wondering if he then already actually appreciated her (as in loved her) and already knew about her background (and maybe he was the owner of that painting already at that point). That’s why he was so furious with her that she did not see the ploy going on … and then he said he would not come back, that this was the last time they would meet.

That was a strange comment for me at the time, and I always thought it had a deeper meaning (something the viewer did not know yet about him and his relationship to her).

What I learned from the beanies here is that this is a makjang … I thoroughly like this one whereas others of that genre I did not care for at all. So I, too, am excited to see the two last episodes and how it all will come together and get resolved.

Your comment brings up a thought I'd not yet had--how much time do we think has passed since Yi-joo (and Do-gook) woke up?

I had always assumed we'd be in a "race to the end of the year's deadline" by episode 12, but I don't feel that months and months have gone by...do you all? I think it's been maybe 2-3 months?

I wonder what's in store for us??

Hi, @mom2kidsdog — @bunnylita's reading is the most likely I feel if one subscribes to his ownership of her painting she wants back.

The title of that painting is «Frozen Spring» as we learned, and from all what has been disclosed about his emotional state since his childhood and that he told his grandmother in that (past, i.e. a few months after 20 July 2022) timeframe that Yi Joo was his home and that he wanted to make sure to have her by his side (that’s why he did this «ridiculous» contract, as he said) … she helped him to un-freeze emotionally, so she became a kindred spirit in that 2022 timeline, one he had recognised as the author of the anonymous painting he had bought some time before 20 July 2023 (the date of the accident).

He clearly knew something about art, when he entered the gallery and stood in front of her hyperrealistic family portrait talking to her … This last bit —that he had bought that painting «Frozen Spring»— is of course speculation on my part … And he was so furious with her in the gallery on the date of the accident because he recognised her soul, but was deeply upset that she got duped by her husband and her sister and did not even realise it like a fool. Maybe his turning back the car (which I think happened when the accident took place) was to confess the truth to her ; after all he had left quickly because his grandmother had fallen ill, the only other person he deeply connected to on THIS level, the soul’s level. — And so, as much as Yi Soo was given a chance for revenge, Do Gook is given a chance for openness towards her and atonement (although of course he did not commit any sin, he just was not open with her) — by returning to the past, one year prior.

That would also fit a couple of preview scenes for EP 11 we saw at the end of EP 10.

Went back and found what you're referring to in Ep10 ... I had totally missed that, and you're right. DoGuk has something to do with that painting. I also think he doesn't want her to know, for some reason, how he's been in love with her for so long ... and thus is unwilling to admit he has the "Frozen Spring" painting. Perhaps he would then have to admit that he went back in time with her? Why that's a problem, I don't know, but we're sure to find out in Ep11 as we see DoGuk running his hands through his hair (thank you, thank you, Writer-nim!) in frustration.

But it’s also here that I’ll lodge my complaint about this week’s episodes: the romance is practically forgotten, and Do-gook has been relegated to the emotional support animal.

Not only was this hilarious visual metaphor spot on (emotional support animal, indeed), I'm 100% with you @missvictrix on wishing there had been WAY more romance for our main couple these past few weeks. At this point, we know more about Yoo-ra's emotional life with her partnerS than our OTP.

I will say that I'm also feeling a little bad for Yoo-ra like so many others, but that I am still NOT READY for her to be taken (back) by Punchable Face. I would like Mr. P. Face to go off and have a new life for himself--still wearing, hands-down, the most flattering jeans on this show--away from all of this malarkey.

Maybe he could become a vampire hunter somewhere or a high-school teacher who really cares for his students or a secretive computer hacker with a heart of gold or something...

That was also my complaint this week. So much makjang-y stuff that we didn't even get to see their relationship evolve. We don't really see them be together. I am hoping the last two episodes will compensate for that. And also, Punchable face and his sister get the award for most annoying characters I have come across. I have seen my fair share of annoying characters in K-drama but, ooof! P. face takes the cake. And his acting is not that good, which makes it even worse.

This drama did not listen to my pleas for more romance between the main couple, so I am a little off of it right now, and willing to have it end next week.

Also, it seems the all-important creative spark has left Yi-joo, as she was wrapping up her previous eclectic artistically production and talking nostalgically of a piece cryptically entitled "Frozen Spring." Apparently, too, she has forgotten the cogent art criticism offered by her husband before her accident, and even suggested that he wasn't interested in her painting!

There were a couple of great scenes this week, though. The first was Yoo-ra preventing her DNA results from becoming known by eating them. If only Da-gook and Yi-joo had thought of that with their marriage contract, it would have saved a lot of fuss! Also, does eating DNA test results change your DNA? There could be a whole new mystical kdrama science developing here--I see a DNA shifting protagonist in the future.

The other scene I liked was the PPL of the heart shaped hair brush, where Yi-joo brushed her hair, Da-gook said how beautiful her hair was, and immediately proposed having children. Of course, if the woman you love has beautiful hair, you want to see it passed down through the generations. I myself proposed to my wife that we have children after witnessing her brush her teeth, and realizing that it was my hereditary duty to ensure pearly whites such as she has will continue to be given an evolutionary advantage.

Will we see a beautiful daughter, also using a heart shaped brand-named hairbrush on her silky tresses? Alas, I fear not. This show is more interested in the showing the revenge than in the perfect marriage--but that's true of all kdramas these days!

From fairest creatures we desire increase,
That thereby beauty’s rose might never die,
But as the riper should by time decease,
His tender heir might bear his memory;
But thou, contracted to thine own bright eyes,
Feed’st thy light’s flame with self-substantial fuel,
Making a famine where abundance lies,
Thyself thy foe, to thy sweet self too cruel.
Thou that art now the world’s fresh ornament
And only herald to the gaudy spring,
Within thine own bud buriest thy content,
And, tender churl, mak’st waste in niggarding.
Pity the world, or else this glutton be,
To eat the world’s due, by the grave and thee.

I think all of the artistic commentary has moved to, **ahem** not to suggest that I have a one-track mind here, our friend Sexretary Kim.

How come he was so duped by the dupes? Why is he so in love with a painter's work, but yet can't tell real ones from the fake? Something tells me that there's real mischief happening in this fateful warehouse...I wonder if we'll ever make it inside to find out? Right now, it seems that there'll be a car crash and we'll head to the police station.

BUT, what if Cruella de Stepmom has the painter tied to a rock in there (with an eagle coming to eat his immortal liver every day) leaving only his hands free to paint authentic-fakes of his own work?? What if that's what is going on?

Just saying...and, no, I'm not quitting my day-job, don't worry.

This show continues to do what it does best--entertain with heart and humor. Yes, they crammed a lot in there (reminds me of an old commercial for a pasta sauce, "It's in there!"), but at least there isn't any filler. And, as I said before, and it continues to be true, this drama doesn't feel like it's talking down to me as a viewer, but instead, continues to invite us ride on the thrill ride with them.

I also would have loved to see more of the romance of the OTP. But I'll take the little beats they gave us. "Yi Joo has always been pretty" was damn swoon worthy. (Affectionate Sung Hoon voice is really, really attractive--I love his softer, more nuanced acting here in the midst of this makjang. He's really bringing it in this drama.) It's also great to see Yi Joo smile in response to Do Guk's efforts and affection.

I actually feel bad more for Jung Wook than Yoo Ra. As awesome as the women in Do Guk's family has been to Yi Joo, the family seems to have been not so great to the two sons when they were children. A lot of issues were left to fester and both seem somewhat neglected by the family as children. And both fathers were completely passive in the face of very bad dynamics in the families. As to Yoo Ra, what she saw of her mother was not new; what was new was that she saw that her mother was willing to use those tactics with Yoo Ra too. Yoo Ra always actively participated in and benefitted from her mother's tactics before then. So while it was a shock to her, it should not have been news that a liar and a cheat would lie and cheat her.

I continue to love this show for giving us a truly united and loving couple who are active in the plot chess game and showing not only some winning moves at the time, but also, thinking a few moves ahead. I don't know if I will ever be able to watch another drama with a passive doormat of a lead, especially a female lead. And please more MLs who are swoon worthy by being hot, sweet and honest.

Watching Cruella lose it all one by one was oh so satisfying. I'm not feeling very sorry for her daughter as yet seeing how she threw her mother under the bus by telling her at the last minute that the police is coming for her. It was the indifference - the she didn't care if Cruella got caught or not, since she is a burden to her now.

I don't think the Evil Witch realises herself that the baby's father is Punchable Face. Coz the Pompous Ass was petty enough to run a DNA test on his father and His Swoonyness, so there's no way he won't run one to confirm the baby is his and she knows it. I look forward to seeing the faces of all the three players in this triangle when the truth comes out 😈

Okay, now the thing that's been bothering me for the last 4 episodes - YiJoo isn't showing His Swoonyness the affection he deserves. She says the right things and gives him big smiles, but it all seems to be directed towards a very dear friend, not the man she loves. Whereas he looks completely besotted everytime he looks at her. While it is understandable that she is going through a lot right now, I would still like to see her show through her eyes and actions that he means more to her than a safe place.

It seems from the preview that Cruella will be sent off to jail pretty fast now, and the last two episodes will focus on our OTP and their countdown predicament. I'm ready!

Yes this doesn’t have enough hot romance to go along with her second chance at life. I get irritated when she cries because “what? The evil woman who hates me tired to kill mom and me?” Well, duh - she poisoned you and then wanted you dead in Episode 1…why are you surprised?

This show makes no sense in many ways, so I don’t really think about it during the week and then when I watch it I giggle and thoroughly enjoy myself. It’s grew to have a cartoon villain.

I think it’s the sort of program that is mocking all the tropes and such that have come before, while making us love it for all its tropes! I don’t know - it’s fun.

As long as we're criticizing it, I also felt the show treated Do-guk's line about why he wanted children very unceremoniously considering what he was implying. Wasn't that the first time he told I-ju that he loves her?

He told her on the beach that he likes her. Also, shows through her actions every day. But I don't see even half of that devotion being reciprocated by YiJoo. I want a grand love declaration by her in the last two episodes.

I still feel like love is a bigger declaration than like, unless that was a translation thing.

Yes, I felt that way about the webcomic as well (in fact, it felt even more lopsided because webcomic Do-guk is like a golden retriever towards I-ju)

3

What I believe is that the date on her wrist is what is holding her back from Do-Guk. Probably she is thinking that will be her due date to die and there is no future with Do-Guk.

4

Oh it's loads of fun! It's the most fun I have had with a Kdrama in ages.

It's not funny but it's funny how Yi Joo is always dropping revelations on Do Guk. "I was poisoned as a child by someone in my house", "My boyfriend is in love with my sister and was just using me to stay close to her", "I'm the true heir", "My stepmother tried to kill me in a fire", "My mother is alive and teaches the rich wives cooking class your mom goes to"

He just never has a normal day with her haha

Another funny moment was how dramatic evil stepmother was during the confrontation and then when she was outside, her demeanor was just like "well, this is inconvenient" as she dropped the act.

Yi Joo's "family" is just terrible. No matter how much apologizing they do, I find them unforgivable. They adopted someone and then treated her like crap but now that she's the "true" heir, now it's "oh we were so wrong! How could we not recognize you?!"

It's disappointing that there couldn't be more time spent with Do Guk's family, specifically his sister. Wish there could've been more scenes between her and Yura where she just sees through her and calls her out.

Just his entire family, mainly the women, could just have all the screentime haha

At least Jung Hoons jacket was a better fit this week. 😂🤣
Unlike all you bleeding hearts, I don’t feel sorry for Yu Ra. At all. She was mean as hell and she still spews venom at Yi Joo. She can burn in hell AFAIAC.
Either Jin Ji Hee is a terrible actress or the writer/director is terrible, but she is coming across as crazy, not evil.
There are changes from the webtoon but I like how they’re telling the story here. It seems more realistic and coherent. Loved the moment grandpa walked into the shareholder meeting. I was so riled up when Jung Hye tried to have Yi Joo removed. A little too blatant. When eventually Jeon Hye gets literally thrown out, I felt soooo much satisfaction. And may I say, this is why I love this show so much.
The cliff hanger was a lot. Not sure how I will wait till next week, though from the previews it looks like she doesn’t die.

Wish list for the final episodes:

1. A final verbal smackdown between world’s best MIL and evil stepmom. We need more one-liners.
2. A fun family dinner with the Taeja women. Attendance by morose dad and scheming half-bro not needed.
3. A chance for Secxy Kim to fully own his part in the revenge plot. Is he the son of the famous painter or something?
4. More romance for our OTP once their survival is assured, and the reveal of Do-gook’s history with Yi-Joo. One last wedding, perhaps after a time jump, would be a bonus.

The therapist made a comeback! Her screen time wasn't as memorable this time though. And I don't feel bad or Yu-ra or Jong-wook at all. Can't wait for their comeuppance next week.

Oh God, as a psychologist that bothered me SO much. Do-guk absolutely should not have his friend assess and then testify. Even if she swears she's being honest there is too much conflict of interest and the testimony wouldn't be reliable. That would be such an ethical nightmare

I think this reflects the show's casting budget as much as anything else. She's friend, therapist, Exposition Fairy, and expert witness - four for the price of one! Since she's completely unrealistic as a mental health professional, I wish she'd been as over-the-top in this appearance as she was previously.

I'm not a fan of makjang and lastly, the episodes are just makjang with every element : the music, the villain, the secret birth, fire, killing, etc.

I liked better when the couple was trying to convince everybody about their romance. Now, it's just politics...

Now, I'm just curious about the time travel and why Do-gook did too.

Thanks for the excellent recap missvictrix.
How can the ML talk about wanting children when they are still sleeping in separate rooms? All the other plot points are zooming along in comparison to any romance for the OTP which is going at a snail's pace.
We need more romance between our leads now.

Love the episodes this week! Team Evil Stepmom took a beating amd got kicked to the curb. Good riddance!
Yu Ra also is having a bad week with one revelation after another. She has to deal with a pregnancy, birth secret, fake paintings and her mom's downfall. I am not sure her villain era is over since she has to hold on to Jung Wook to survive. Both are desperate so we will find out what villainy they are capable of, if any.
Yi Joo had it better but still has to deal with both her birth parents and her evil stepmom. She isnlucky to have Do Guk's love and support.
I think next week is Do Guk's time to shine as he face off with his brother. He has yet to reveal his death mark, when he fell in love with Yi Joo, come clean with his wife, fight his brother and finally gain control of Taeja.
Any baby from our OTP will be most welcome!

So it wasn’t amnesia but coma, nice play drama 😉

Okay so these episodes were full of birth secret reveals buuuuut I’m genuinely asking why would anyone want to be biologically related to such a boring and incompetent man?? The whole real vs fake stuff just makes me laugh, this doesn’t change the fact he’s still a shit dad to both his daughters. Also Yi-joo why are you stopping him from taking the medication?? That’s the one good thing Lee Jung-hye did! Now we have deal with him hogging the screen time from our OTP and Best Mother-in-law

Lee Jung-hye’s face of absolute glee when she’s about to hit Yi-joo with the car was S-tier levels of iconic. I couldn’t stop laughing. It’s the face my pup makes when I have a treat 😂

i got stuck in ep 7 and can't seem to keep watching.
i will, however, keep reading the recaps.

blame my mental health at the moment... it's hard to hold interest in anything when your serotonin/dopaming whatever are so low you can't enjoy anything :(

Here is my theory of Yu-ra: in the original timeline, Yi-joo wanted a family who loved her. She learned, right before her death in the original timeline, that her adoptive mom flat out hated her and wanted to kill her. So that leaves her husband, her sister, her father, and her grandfather. They all have to realize the error of their ways. The only satisfying resolution is if Punchable Face (I still can't remember his actual name) and Yu-ra say out loud, "I was wrong!" as in fact, the father and grandfather have said (while weeping copiously.)

Wait I thought the chef mom biological mother thing was so obvious?? Though I did enjoy that revelations so much like it needs to be studied how this drama managed to make something that obvious so fun.

This week's episode in summary:
Evil step mother said "Hmm let's see if I can e more evil than I already am"

I find it hilarious when a drama is good/great (like this one) I don’t want it to end. Whine! I want more episodes. And when it’s less good, I can’t wait for the end. Far be it from me to actually DROP a lesser drama because I’ve invested my life into the darned thing.
