At the end of episode 2 of Someday or One Day, the twist reveals itself when the Chinese title surfaces in her text to him:
โThis yearโs birthday, my 3rd wish, is a wish to you. That wish, is, wanting to see you.
The lyrics of the theme song start to gain significance…
🎵 You can softly, tenderly, follow my footsteps. Let the beautiful memories slowly repeat 🎵
Despite so many beautifully heart wrenching scenes, the show doesn’t forget to cheer us on! The sign on the wall states โTrust, Persistence, Courage. With these there is nothing you canโt do in the world.โ
I trust you, Show. Please be merciful to my soul.
The ending song hits the core – hopefully viki provided the most accurate translation but a line from the ending song was – โwould there be another dimension, another body, that could give us an alternate ending?โ 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭.
Could you please tell me what the title of the ending song? I thought it was Miss You 3000 but apparently itโs the singerโs album title!
2nd gif was sooooo painful to watch 😭😭 she said she wasnโt gonna try on the virtual reality device. She didnโt shed a tear at his funeral (I did.. those Happy pictures of Him on the projector auuuugh!), but once sheโs all alone, she went and used that virtual reality device just to see him one more time! Sheโs in so much agony, ottoke! 😭
And when sheโs trying so hard to find faults in him…. so that she can have โreasonโ to let go.
Hunting down evidence of his “infidelity” with Vicky…..trying to search for traces of his less than pure intention for being with her….all so she can see the imperfect him, all so she can start love him a little less and maybe resent him a little more 😭😭😭
When she finally couldn’t help herself and went back to the office to try the device and then wrapping her arms around empty space……
I do love all the songs so far in the show @13infamyss! The ending song is ๆณ่ฆไฝ ๆณ่ฆไฝ ๆณ่ฆไฝ , English title Miss You 3000 (or the title of the show repeated 3 times “Wanting to See You, Wanting to See You, Wanting to See You”) by the singer named 831.
Do you mean the elevator scene where with the opening of each floor she sees how they celebrate that particular birthday? So beautifully and poetically done…..
Oh please, let it be a happy ending for all….even if they are all just different versions of oneself!
1998 part is very high on nostalgia for me, their school reminds me of mine, even the walls had the same colour! And kids rode bikes around and had to secretly park them.
The show sure brings back memories of my youth growing up in Taiwan! My school had the same navy blue pleated skirt and crisp white collar shirt for uniform….and boys just as cute at least filtered through my rose-colored memories!! 😆
Oh … In my school we all had uniform but not with numbers, yes my school also had its fair share of cutie boys and very beautiful girls, and its fair shair share of criminals and more than its fair share of deaths.
We had a student number that was used on a fairly regular basis in exam papers & school documents etc, but we didn’t wear it separately like a badge on us…. I think our school ID had it, & it was compulsory to wear it around our necks
My high school had those kind of good looking boys, but as soon as they opened their mouths cuss words (disparaging against women in general type) would flow out of them so that killed off any attraction 😆
😆 I think that’s basically how Yu Xuan feels @maybemaknae once she gets over the fact that Zi Wei looks exactly like Quan Sheng….Zi Wei speaks like an immature high school student who likes to get a good view of the field on the rooftop!
Taiwanese school is interesting. @outofthisworld mentioned how they had their school numbers on their uniform. Make the numbers a little bigger and the student would look like inmates 😅
I Find it interesting that the school here looked very dated, not properly painted/maintained… perhaps a representation of the kind of schools in the countryside.
I didn’t have numbers on my uniform for my schools but had to sew these plastic little tags onto the shirt identifying which year and which class I was!
I do think the production team does try to have the schools look more like less well funded rural schools in Taiwan with a tinge of 90’s nostalgia of the faded painted desks and chairs.
Now you mention it, yeah @lindag, I can see the resemblance!
To me Greg Hsu has this really unique boyish charm and playfulness that works so well for his character in the show. His eyes sparkle and his smiles inviting….he portrays both Li Zi Wei and Wang Quan Sheng so seamlessly. Are you watching the show as well?
Despite growing up in Taiwan, I have watched the least numbers of Tw-dramas than Korea, Japanese, and Chinese productions. For me they do sometimes have a pretty distinct feel or tone to them, and I might argue probably the most open about subjects regarding intimacy.
I hope you consider giving this drama a try! This is fast becoming my favorite TW drama @lindag!
*crosses fingers for a satisfying ending
I have watched a few of Taiwanese drama (actually the first i watched had Alice ke, the main actress, it was called office girls)
But this is by far my total favourite!
Thank you @meltingfrost! I cannot believe with just couple episodes this show has completely captured my heart. I hope you do decide to watch it soon and squee (or cry 😆) with me!!
So I bit the bullet 🤣
I went to check the first episode out of curiosity….and I honestly didnโt realize where the time went and reached the 5th LOL. I havenโt binged like that in so long! The most curious thing is that it doesnโt have a suspenseful, cliffhanger pull. Itโs a very quiet, understated addicting draw, where youโre actually living the characterโs lives. Iโm pleasantly surprised! It has some t-drama tropes (mainly those quirky characters that they ALWAYS have) but it honestly wasnโt enough to take away from the rest of the beautiful story (yet). The OST! So beautiful. And Iโm so impressed that the same actors can create chemistry with each other in one dimension and not much in the other but that you see something growing there.
I equal parts resent you and appreciate you for introducing this lollllll hereโs to another time investment! 😭😆❤️
OMG @meltingfrost that is AWESOME!! And it is totally within your right to resent me for the dark circles you may have under your eyes today. 😂😂😂
I am already listening to the OST on loop on my commute to work today and I have a feeling I will keep listening for a long time!
I agree that it is not necessary the suspense, but the characters’ longing for one another and the fight to remain emotionally intact despite grief and guilt…all so wistfully handled by the direction and the writing. I am glad Greg Hsu is able to inject so much warmth to the role to make it bearable through it all.
I agree Iโve rarely seen it done well anyway. But as youโll see above I gave it a chance already 😆 and itโs this slow, nostalgic beauty so far! The scifi aspect realistically obviously makes no sense, but I was so drawn in to the characters I didnโt notice it, and was as invested in the sci-fi aspect with them as they were.
Haham @maybemaknae I am sure once I have caught up with the show, I will need to spazz with all of you!! Do you talk about the drama mostly on the C-drama Discord?
We have different channels there, but yes we talk about cdramas a lot! __Spontaneous chat happens there, what with reactions & gifs & spoiler function, it’s easy to chat without spoiling the suspense for other watchers.
Come try it once, you’ll like it. It’s like rabbit but better in the chat aspect.

You had cutie pies like Li Zi Wei and Mo Jun Jie at your school??😆😆😆
Wearing Uniforms in where I am is only for the elite kids. So itโs the 1% of population – the private schools. I didnโt wear school uniform.
