Beanie level: The Goblin’s underpants

Another addictive Cdrama with gorgeous costumes and cinematography. Struggling with 16 episode Kdramas but 40 episode Cdrama always feel too short. Story of Kunning Palace is such a satisfying watch.

I have tried twice and have not been able to get past the first 10 minutes of the premiere but I really want to give this drama an honest try, because I really like Bai Lu (FL actress), and I generally like iQiYi dramas, even the cliched and not-so-great-but-made-for-a-quick-ROI dramas

Found another gem on Netflix. The C-drama rabbit hole is endless and I’m here for it. #WhoRulesTheWorld

That one got a lot of buzz when it came out. I started it, but have not finished it.

Same thing happened to me. I am not just made for 40 episode dramas.

Its good and pretty fast paced. It made for a good binge watch.

I liked Yang Yang better styled as Feng Xi. There is just something about the mane of glory. 😊

Filling the Blossoms In Adversity shaped hole with another interesting C-drama. The costumes and sets are gorgeous and am loving the OTP banter. #Destined

Finished Blossoms in Adversity and loved every minute of it. A beautiful and layered story with strong female characters and so much warmth. Definitely one my favorites this year.

I should really try to get out of my Asian drama watching funk and start this. All I’ve been doing is binging “Criminal Minds” on DisneyPlus lately

This drama is SO good. Their relationship is lovely to watch and it’s exactly as firefly describes. I think you’ll really like it (and it will be a very nice counter to Criminal Minds lol).

I really need to do an analysis of this show and why I felt it was so good. I loved it too.

Would love to read it. It was such a heartwarming drama and all the characters were so interesting.

This drama is so good and such a delight to watch. The journey of an all female household is so refreshing to watch and Hua Zhi is such a great lead and I love all the side characters too.

Needed a palette cleanser after Queen of Tears and discovered this little gem. Just five episodes in but am really liking it. Hope it stays good. #BlossomsInAdversity

I keep reading good feedback about this one, but I’m hesitant about Hu Yi Tian (my experiences with him have never been good) and unsure about Zhang Jing Yi as I’ve never watched her in anything, but she’s currently filming a drama slated for 2025 that I am anticipating

    3
    2

Give him a chance! He’s really a background character supporting the female lead which I love.

I’ve seen her in Lighter and Princess before and she was sweet there but here she is so good. Highly recommend watching this drama its really good. Admittedly the male lead is very wooden but everything else is excellent its easy to ignore his acting or lack thereof.

I’ve been watching this with my husband and it’s out with 35 episodes so far on VIKI. I like it! It’s more about the women and how they support themselves. The female lead is really good. Hu Yi Tian does what he does best—being tall and handsome. 😂 I think it’ll be a 50 or so episode drama. I’m really more interested in the sister of the ML and how her autism (she’s a medical phenom in the show) is portrayed. The actress is doing a great job with this and I think we’ll see her in more projects. The male that has been paired up with her I also think is adorable and have wanted a love line for him since episode 3 and finically started developing in episodes 15-17. I’m on episode 19 currently.

It’s only 40 eps so you’re almost halfway! Honestly would’ve loved if this was longer but ahh, curse the rules around episode caps.

Shaoyao is such a lovely character. Rooting for her and the younger brother of the second male lead. They have this natural spark and its great to watch.

Can confirm it stays great till the end!! I mean if you were to really take a magnifying glass to it some plot points feel rushed and there’s a few plot holes – but who cares honestly, the heart of the show remains in tact and it made for a very satisfying watch. Glad you’re enjoying it so far!

Half-way through and its really holding up. Am obsessed, this is really such a refreshing drama.

Think the drama peaked for me with the Song joong-ki cameo. I’ve been slowly losing interest despite loving the Yongduri hijinks with the in-laws but ep 14 was atrocious. Thankfully its almost over.

Back to C-drama and this one looks really cute. #EveryoneLovesMe

I read that it’s getting pretty good reviews on Netflix. I like Lin Yi (the ML actor), he has that really endearing dorky aura about him

this was painful to live watch.. but should be fun for binge watching (because humour will flow.. this drama was utterly boring during live watch.. pace killed off)

I just finished this over the weekend. It is cute. Just a lovely watch.

It was really cute. Silly in every way but cute and funny especially when everyone except the female lead figures out the identity of the ‘crush’ whilst in the game. Pure comedy.

K-drama is really winning the wedding pictorial game. These pictures are gorgeous and remind me so much of the real life wedding of Son ye-jin and Hyun Bin.

Ran out of K-dramas to watch so decided to jump on the Queen of Tears hype. Surprisingly this drama is not what I expected it to be but am liking it so far.

So far, I’ve found that it only gets better with every episode. I hope you feel the same.

The episodes are quite long so am watching it slowly but 5 episodes in and its growing on me. Though the past chemistry doesn’t work always maybe because we only see it in flashes. Its more interesting to see them re-connect in the present timeline.

I also started this show recently, but I’m loving it.

In the meantime started another new drama and its giving all the cute romcom feels. 2024 is definitely a turning out to be a good K-drama year for now. But am definitely preferring shorter episodes.

Honestly want to know why this drama needs 16 episodes. The plot is all over the place and the warmth and likability get diluted with all the unnecessary makjang. 10 episodes would have been perfect.

Agreed. I kept watching and wondering the same thing.
I guess the last 2 episodes will get to the part of his parents’ approval/disappoval of her.

    2

They completely skipped his parents. This drama had a great premise that dragged itself to ruins. The OTP were cute and fun though.

Hoping the writers apply K-drama logic and give us a happy ending somehow. After everything he’s been through the King deserves to be happy.

Finally started the new Yu Shuxin drama. The CGI is awkward in some places but liking the overall adventure vibe though I have a feeling it’ll get angsty in the later parts. #SwordAndFairy

Would you recommend?? How is it ranking thus far in comparison to other Xu Kai dramas??

    0

This is my first Xu Kai drama so I can’t say but the first 12 episodes I’ve seen till now are mostly just set up. Too many characters being introduced without any clear explanation and sometimes it feels juvenile but its watchable.

True enough 😅 Some of them are actual remakes with the same characters and plots, and some are just of the same universe but have different characters and plots

It really is the perfect romcom. Damaged male lead, Chaebol politics and plenty of murder, all the ingredients for a great romcom. 😉

But you know what? It is really working here. 😄 At least the comedy part so far. And Mom is a big part of it. 😄

Current favorite drama. Ahn bo-hyun really suits these kind of roles. Didn’t much like either of them in Yumi’s Cells but love them here.

I finally started it last night. So far, so fun! Ahn Bo-hyun is deliciously punchable. I’ve never seen Park Ji-hyun in a positive role before but she’s already completely changed my opinion of her for the better.

Oh yay Elinor!!! I’m glad to hear that!!! I was hoping you would enjoy it, because I was thinking of it as a Numbers-esque drama. This is also the first time I’ve liked Park Ji-hyun… it seems like a good role for her! And Ahn Bo-hyun is just FUN 😁 Yayyy!!!🥳

I love it. Its spot on with the comedy and the thriller aspects are so fun. I’m also loving the chemistry between the team.

Thank you for the perfect set of pictures. You’re so right about these roles being a perfect fit for both. While I’ve liked Ahn Bo-hyun in quite a few dramas before but this is the first drama in which I’ve liked Park Ji-hyun.
Yumi’s Cells feels like so many lifetimes ago. 😂

It really does especially because I only watched the first season. I loved Ahn bo-hyun in Military Prosecutor as well but he’s more fun here. The chemistry works better in this drama.

While the drama went downhill after episode 10 at least it wrapped up everything neatly though I still don’t understand why Yura needed to exist. At least the finale wedding was gorgeous.

Absolutely captivated by this drama. Jo jung-seok and Shin sae-kyung are a delight to watch. Especially thrilled to see Shin sae-kyung in another interesting character. Hoping this ends well.

I’m surprised at how much I’m enjoying it, too, considering a) I was completely bored by the first episode and would have dropped it if not for DB and 2) the production team and actress spent regrettably little time on making sure her character presented as believably, traditionally (or even untraditionally) male. I’ve really had to get over the constant voice in my head that questions how, how, HOW all these people think the baduk gambler is a man.

I will say that’s the one downside of this drama. I think they actually give her some make-up too! WHY? She doesn’t try to disguise her voice she has not faked a beard in the same timeframe as her male counterparts… but the storyline has got me where I am willing to overlook it for now lol

      2
      0

HAHAHHAAHAHA I’ve noticed that at first. They didn’t even try!!! I do like it though as it’s realistic to me that she would pull her clothes like it’s a skirt when she climbs the stairs. It’s her mannerisms and it shows lol. I guess back then, the clothes maketh the person so in their brains, she’s really male. If anything, I like that they don’t judge gender based on appearance hehe

Started this because the poster is so pretty but its such a likeable drama and Yoon Park is an absolute riot. This drama season is really winning.

Marry My Husband is so much fun. I’m loving the transformed female lead and the despicable second leads. Haven’t seen Song ha-yoon in anything since Sweden Laundry but she is a delight to watch.
