Beanie level: Rooftop room dweller

Atty WYW. Young woo trying to guess what the elder was trying so say and then being disappointed when she gets is wrong is cute.
‘What is it of Sodeok-dong?’ 🤣🤣🤣

I came across this show on YouTube called MMTG. I was amazed at how well informed and prepared the host, Jaejae, is
She is a big ball of energy but is smart as a whip with her interview subjects.

Jaejae’s energy is 🌋. She can make a veteran look like a rookie and turn the most chaotic group into docile beings.

turn the most chaotic group into docile beings

Ahem. 2PM would like a word.

Jaejae is indeed terrific, though. She’s a tsunami – the shows move so fast I can’t read the subtitles quickly enough and I’m sure I miss 3/4 of the humor, but they’re a ton of fun.

        No no Elinor.

        Shinee would like a word.

That was amazing and it boiled down to who was gonna break first, Jaejae or Key. 🙂

To My Star 2. Just give Hwang Da suel every show from here on out. She delivered all the way to the end. What a fantastic finale and here is hoping for Season 3.

I thought the last couple episodes were excellent. Jiwoo was finally honest with himself and Seo joon. I had to go back and watch the first season and he kept lying to himself and Seo joon even then. One thing though, and you can comment or not, but in the first season, I assumed that Ji woo had always been gay—it certainly looked that way to me and really does when I watched just now the second time around. There’s a line in the first season that he says to Seo Joon that makes me certain of this—he is telling Seo Joon to leave because he thinks Seo Joon was just bored and toying with him because he’s the only person around him. He says, basically, that he was sincere and Seo joon was not. Then he cries after Seo joon leaves and comes back after like 30 seconds-lol- he really is heartbroken. You can’t react like that if you’ve not already made it clear to yourself that you’re gay. And if this was his first foray into that, without realizing it prior, I don’t know if you could develop those feelings so fast. (I’m not homosexual, so maybe I have no idea what I’m talking about here.) So I was SHOCKED when he had an ex-girlfriend that he dated for 5 years and that was his only prior relationship. Shocked. That’s why I really didn’t like most of that story arc, I couldn’t believe it. Other than that, I’m glad the second season was just strong as the first. I like her shows. I just watched Blueming this week as well and Where Your eyes linger was my first kdrama BL. I’ll watch anything she directs.

Ji woo said he was in a relationship in the 1st season. He never specified gender. I thought that maybe the guy he was involved with was closeted, and like you was shocked it was a woman. It makes me wonder what would have happened if his parents had survived that accident though. Just how much more of a mess would he be with his parents around.

Da Seul needs to get her hands on a 16 eps network show. She will be amazing. There ain’t nearly enough female directors in Korea. Just like in America and that is sad as hell.

I didn’t find it weird, I just thought “he’s most be bisexual or something”.

Have you watched Semantic Error? It’s really nice. I also recommend the BL My Love Mix Up, but it’s a jdrama.

      1
      2

I’ve seen both of these. I’ve actually seen a lot (four just during my covid isolation-lol). My love mix up is adorable! It’s a manga that my daughter’s friend read and we talked about it when I watched it. I just watched Old Fashioned Cupcake (also jdrama), and rewatched it today as well. It’s very dialogue heavy which I liked a lot. It felt like an indie film the way the cinematography and music direction went. I liked that as well. It actually reminded me of a French film if you know what I mean. But it’s excellent and Kimura Tatsunari stands out in this.

I got a manga to recommend. It is called My Dining Table. You just walk away feeling the absolute best after reading it. And it is one that you can read with you kid.
It is about a dude who runs into another dude and his much younger brother and they become friends and eat meals together. Yes, it is a BL and just absolutely heartwarming. It is chase compared to most, but the relationship is in the open. I think you will enjoy it.

Old FC, it’s on my watchlist. I hope I can watch it this week or next.
I watched Mr Unlucky Has No Choice But To Kiss a few weeks ago, it was funny and sweet. I want to watch more BLs from Japan, but Viki has like only 5…

          2

I thought My Love Mix Up was absolutely adorable. What I liked about it was, they were teenagers. They were kids trying to figure things out. You don’t expect a teenager to be hella mature and know what they want. And I love the fact that there was no interlooper or romantic rival for them to deal with while there are trying to work out who they are and what they want their relationships.

Atty Woo 1-2. I hope that Jun ho likes Young woo for who she is and not the challenges of her. And kudos to the show for showing in the 1st ep that Young woo is a woman with desires, the way she looked at Jun ho stirred something up inside of her and that is great to see. It will be interesting to see how they take the romance story line and I hope the show acts right while doing so.

Yes, I hope they continue the romance story line well~
I like, how just finding a person who can listen to her whale talks made her happy, she even bragged about it to her dad, hehe! Also liked the way he told, we should keep sometime reserved for ‘whale-talk’ so that they can talk about other things too, ha! cute!

I have an ENT colleague who is married to someone on the spectrum. When you meet them in public, it’s obvious she is different, but after knowing she’s on the spectrum it makes more sense. I hope this show does this relationship right.

To My Star 2.

Seo joon needs to just move on. My God, my heart just breaks for him now.

1
6

Are you watching this live too??? I’m broken after episode 6. I agree. Seo Joon can’t make Ji-woo feel loved and nurtured. Unless he quits his job and just waits on him hand and foot. But I think Ji-woo is too reclusive to even want this. The problem is Ji-woo, unfortunately. I totally see how he would go back to the ex-girlfriend though. This episode hit me where I live. I’ve been told the same words that Ji-woo told Seo-Joon when they finally cleared the air. Ugghhhhh 😭😭😭.

    1
    2

Yes I am. I am at this point that Ji woo needs to be alone and have no one. Yoon seul has a job and career she is good at and requires the same kind of commitment as Seo joon’s. So what would be the point of them getting back together. Just so he would get upset in a year’s time or even sooner and do the same thing he did to her with they were teenagers. I like her and she deserves better than Ji woo.

When Ji woo said that about Seo joon, about how he just took care of him and just wanted to make him happy, like that was a character flaw for Seo joon to have. Ugh. Yeah, you need to go. I will say that I am very happy Seo joon found his voice and finally just said what needed to be said and called Ji woo out on his crap.

      1
      1

Also, when Ji-woo said he was lonelier when he was in a relationship with Seo-joon than he was being single, that’s when you know that you can’t overcome that. Ji-woo has a heart and a head problem and needs therapy. Lol. I don’t know how the writer is going to reconcile this. Ji-woo at least has some insight that Seo-joon did nothing wrong in the relationship.

        2
        1

I wonder if it had to do with the fact that Seo joon just wanted to take care of him. In season 1, he was going to give Ji woo money to open his own restaurant so he could have the vision that he wanted. Then this season he bought them a new home and than he bought Ji woo a car. On top of having a ton on money, he just adored him. Maybe Ji woo has a fear of the other shoe dropping and Seo joon just leaving him. And since you and I know that will never happen, why does he?

Ji woo has upset me so much and if he toys with Yoon seul and her emotions, I will write him off for good.

This season so far is so damn good.

do you think that loneliness logic was genuine?
It was too much of a coincidence that SJ is listening in, and JW tells ex gf he never felt lonely with her..

if this truly turns out to be the logic for the separation, it would be dissapointing

So everyone is crying into their phones apparently bc BTS is taking a indefinite hiatus. Everything is by design with this group and something tells me news of their military status is about to hit.

4
9

It’s not as if Jin and Suga can hold off for much longer. Anyway, RM said that they felt like they lost their direction after Butter and Permission to Dance, which I can totally see. Hope they are well and have the chance to rest and pursue whatever they feel like before they get sent off to the military

    5
    3

Not just those two. Once the country goes to international age in 2023, the next two oldest will not be far behind.

I honestly thought they would get exemption, especially after they received diplomatic status.

I might have to eat some merch now. 🙂

      1
      0

I wondered how the members felt about the push to appeal to the international community with those songs. I think we got the answer. I honestly thought they might get the military exemption or try to all go at once but now I don’t think so.

      2
      1

They wanted a Grammy. They knew what they had to do. They never made it a secret and have stated the English language songs were put out for that reason. What sucked was that while they are talented group, they are not a western group who will ‘network’ to get that award and let the music speaks for itself.

They don’t have a problem with a international community. They want everyone to know who the
they are and listen to their music and go to their concerts and buy their merchandise. Otherwise, why would they tour the way they do. They mentioned Australia and India as countries they were going to tour before the pandemic hit. They were probably gonna pick some counties in Africa as well. The news here has been blowing up about one of them doing Lollapalooza.

They want that international attention. They want that Grammy.

        2
        0

Ooh, interesting! I didn’t realize that RM said that re Butter/Permission to Dance and I’m curious what makes him say so about those particular pieces. I loved their music dearly for a long time but kind of fell away from them before those songs because it felt like they started taking on a less personal/authentic sound as their popularity grew, so I’m intrigued by their inside perspective on that idea and what the distinguishing factors are between the new and the old.

In any case, I agree the timing makes sense with the impending military enlistments. It feels like a strategic and more peaceful middle ground between the uproar that would happen if they enlisted a couple at a time from those who thought they deserved the exemption, and the backlash that could’ve followed them being exempted, as well. (Not that that has to be the reason, but at least it seems to be a nice side effect.)

      2
      1

I still haven’t watched the whole Festa video where they talk about this, but from the couple of snippets that I watched, I guess they also felt like they were loosing themselves with those less personal songs and that they were feeling drained. Suga and RM specifically mentioned they needed time to write their own material, and Jimin and Jin talked about the need to spend some time apart because they have been together for so long and that they needed to develop sense of self. It all makes sense to me and more power to them for not staying in (a very lucrative) rut. Besides, I agree with you- the timing is right, and it will be a chance for growth if the younger members keep on doing their thing individually while the older ones go into the military

        1
        0

I support your hunch. If it’s true, I support the members who will take a break to serve their country.

    2
    0

and they should, like any other able bodied SK men but seeing how quiet the members are during the whole exemption discourse, they (like, any other SK men) probably not keen on serving. but this is just my opinion

    2
    0

I think they like everyone else have to view it as a right of passage that just has to be done. It would have been unfair to all the other stars who had to drop their career and main income source and go do their time and hope the audience had not moved on when they came back. It would have back fired big time if they received exemption as they are important influencers and it would have led to resentment by all those who already witness money and fame providing unfair advantages.

This season is going to make me cry, I can feel it.

    1
    1

      RIght???!!!!

When Seo joon was opening the window to jump out of the car. He was not being dramatic, he was on borrowed time for a year. *sigh*

And how could his manager and the CEO not put two and two together to figure out why Seo joon wanted Ji woo found on that particular day.

      1
      1

Ji Woo better have a bloody good reason, because the way he disappeared was awful (on SJ’s birthday, wtf) and those lame excuses he gave him make no sense. The first time I watched the window scene I found it funny, but after watching the two episodes that scene is the most depressing thing ever. Seo Joon loves him so much and his personality won’t let him give up, that’s going to save their relationship, BUT I wished just for once SJ didn’t have to do all the hard work. JW needs to stop running away.

I wish the manager and the CEO had a little more of empathy, tbh. They only treat him like a dramaking.

Ps. When the kid called JW “appa” I almost died. LOL
Ps 2. The flashbacks are killing me, they’re so beautiful. I need more of them to be able to survive the sadness from the present time line.

        1
        1

And left the breakup note on TOP OF A BIRTHDAY CAKE !!!

But this was always Ji woo. When Seo joon said that he would be more than happy to go public about no longer being single in Season 1, Ji woo shut it down. Only to turn around and throw it in his face a year later. Dirty pool, Ji woo. Dirty pool. Seo joon gives it his all, in everything. Ji woo knew this and still went into the relationship. But there were little clues throughout Season 1 that he was gonna do this. It upsets me that he still did this to Seo joon, who while a little self centered, wasn’t stupid and would lay down in traffic for him. Taking the town leader to the restaurant showed that.

And you are right about the Manager and the CEO. Seo joon always told them who he was and what he wanted. It was never a mystery and I don’t understand why they thought he was just being a ‘celebrity’.

          0
          3

What was he thinking? for real.

But knowing how SJ is, shouldn’t JW try harder? he should know -since it already happened in season 1- that even if he runs away, he can’t escape. SJ already told JW that he (SJ) would go to him if it was too difficult for JW to go to him.

SJ helping him with his restaurant made things even sadder. JW literally insulted him the night before but SJ still tried to help him and wants to resolve things. LIKE JI WOO C’MON, STOP THIS. JUST GO HUG OUR BOY.

Exactly, they should know by now how passionate he is. They really thought he was going to drink and cry for a week and then he would be over it?

            1
            0

Maybe this season will show Ji woo finally putting in the work? I hope that is the direction that it is going. Ji woo figuring out his own shit and then being a better partner to Seo joon.

If the look on his ex’s, the fashion director, is any indication. This is how he rolls.

            0
            0

I was so scared about the ex. The most common thing with the sudden appearance of an ex, is that the ex is there to make the partner jealous. And according to the preview she’s moving to his neighborhood? So I was thinking Ji Woo would use her as his final resource to run away from Seo Joon (I just notice I have so little faith in JW).

I hope you’re right, I hope this time JW takes TEN steps for every single one SJ takes.
