Extraordinary Attorney Woo

I’m enjoying it (surprisingly), superb first episode, looks promising and I’m already liking the characters so far, so yeah I’ll gladly give them 2 hours of my week, ha!

One more thing, most important, the way they’ve portrayed the Autism (so far) is very accurate, without any exaggeration, for eg. Echolalia (the way she repeated sentences), Bracing themselves before doing anything new, Sensory overload (in court, first fight scene, in train) and then her coping mechanisms (listening to whale sounds, or using ear plugs – even seeing whales- iron looking like a whale was the perfect example, so very accurate) also the way she walks and swings. I’m glad they’ve researched it well, it shows.

    I just watched the first two episodes and was enamored with PEB from the first scene. I’m loving the new cases every episode.

      Yes, same here.. also it’s light on law too, small cases getting resolved in an episode is better than long dragging cases!

      I can’t believe I’m already counting days to watch next episode (after a while I’m watching an airing drama, hehe maybe that’s why)

I finished My liberation Notes today…

The way I see and describe a good slice-of-life drama is on the basis of what it made me feel, simple…plot, story, ost or anything else is secondary… Just what it made me feel… (and + points if it taught me one or two things)
And MLN made me
Feel seen…
Feel heard…
Feel felt…
I saw myself in all the characters in tiny li’l bits, it made me realize it’s not just me that feels this way – and however cliche this may sound, this feeling of realization assures and comforts me!

Out of all characters to whom I felt relatable most was Chang-hee, ofc not in everything (for eg his car obsession, or continuous speaking habit, ha!) Apart from these I felt him, I saw myself in him at many places and easily understood him, the way he wouldn’t give up on things, the way he tries to solve or avoid situations, the way he dealt with people, the way he never gave up and the way he cared for others (esp. in the last ep – I would’ve done and chose to do the same – at this point I was sure I related with Chang-hee the most)

When mi-jung said once smth along the lines of “People like me can’t see things to an end with people the way you want, Even fighting with someone is hard for me” I felt it, I was like me too mi-jeong, me too! heh

And without being embarrassed I’ll say in some ways I saw myself in ki-jung too, the way she gets easily teared-up, taking stand for siblings etc…

As for Mr. Gu, I still haven’t figured him out, maybe I will, one day…

Why does it feels like everybody’s in some kind of drama slump and not just me? I was thinking abt the recent dramas and I realized after Human Disqualification, there isn’t a single drama for which I keep waiting every week,,,and that reminds me HD should be in one of my lovefeb post, oh so here it is! I’ve told this multiple times now, but I really loved every minute of this drama, it doesn’t follow the typical kdrama structure, it has it’s own charm, the stillness, the screaming silence, speaking stares, the tension, and oh so realistic portrayal of Humans .
I saw myself in the characters at many places, ‘the feeling of not becoming anything like Bu-jung hit with me’, ‘the fear of failure not letting me try anything new like Kang-jae resonated with me’! And then all they said worked on me like magic, even now when I’m at my lowest I imagine bu-jung saying ” it’s not what you become, but what you do that matters…life is not about titles or so called success but choices – what you choose to do, say and who you spend time with.” and this comforts me on another level.
Here’s to the best drama of 2021 that I’ve watched,
