Beanie level: Errand boy

Someone’s been working out hmmm….

In my eyes she’s the most beautiful woman alive. I don’t know and I don’t even want to know what happened between her and Song Joong Ki but I hope they can both heal and move on.

If any woman in the Korean entertainment industry can bounce back from the divorce and remain her A-Class status, it’s her.

From 1 to 10, how much I’m missing by not watching The Light In Your Eyes?

it’s ok.. but the senior actress is a delight..its good actors, better than avg. story (but then i watched it after knowing spoilers).. but not mind blowing stuff.. and a lot can be fast forwarded, specially the daycare bit

Honestly? I’d say a 10. Tonight’s finale episode will be a deciding factor, but it’s one of the most true, impactful stories that I have ever seen told in any medium. I recommend – but mental and emotional preparedness is important.

I think it depends on age of the viewer. The 20 year old me would have been unlikely to appreciate it as much as I’d at 50 years old.

If you are older, I will say 10 and minus 2 for every decade 😛

    5

I would say a 10. But its also hindering on the finale tonight.

I’m kind of sorry I started this one but it’s excellent. I’m not in a mood where I’d be watching Mother right now either, so it kind of depends on how much sad you can take right now.

I don’t think she’ll be able to watch this without imploding. 🤣

I can’t even read this without squealing! I knew GY was going to be in this, but PBG! Now, I just need YJG and that would be my box office blockbuster—and my heart buster as well. I’ve always thought these three should be in something together. Like a Korean remake of Legends of the Fall.

I’ve been spasming around ever since this article came out! If this happens, HOW will i watch it without squealing every minute???

I totally didn’t spend the last hour watching Jungkook videos on YT. I think I’m doomed? My niece is to blame 😱😱😱

Beanies, what is this “Love, February” challenge? Can somebody enlighten me?

Park Min Young certainly knows how to pick her leading men 😎

I thoroughly enjoyed first two episodes of Romance is a bonus book. I’m one of those who enjoy LJS even if his characters are similar. I’ll take what I get before he enlists.

But it was Lee Na Young’s character who I truly enjoyed. I expected another bitter mid-30s ahjumma who never been kissed but I got a strong woman who wants to take back her place in the world.

same here.. he is elegant..( i don’t know what is masculine of elegant) 🙂 and that’s hard to come by ..

he is just so refined always!!

He is going to be my 1st serious celeb crush.. enough to follow through the lifeline

    2

I am so happy you also liked her character because I really adored her… she is strong and wants to overcome her difficulties… although I found a lot of people are still not happy with that characterization..

I loved Lee Na-young too! She was tough, smart, strong and capable, even if the world refused to acknowledge it and I really look forward to watching her get her groove back.

ooooo i haven’t seen it yet, and i was generally excited about it, but i had the same expectations for LNY. super excited now that you’ve said this!

Should I watch this live???? I just don’t know!!!

Give it a try …I hope you like it..

The heroine is someone who was ace in her field before she got married. Then she became a stay-at-home mum for 11 years and lost all her credentials. Now she’s trying to find her place in the world again. Even though she’s on the edge of breaking down because her life frankly sucks, she’s still quite strong willed and doesn’t wait for a shining knight to save her. I especially loved when she said “I’d rather to write my own story” even when there was a swoony second lead who was ready to save her.

This is Song Jae Jung. A writer who should never write a fantasy drama again. No oppa can convince me to watch her dramas ever again. Shame on me I got fooled by her once again.

12
13

She is blacklisted forever! Even more than the pretty noona writer.

    2
    2

They should use her ideas, but let someone else write them out.

      13
      4

So true, I mean the plot holes are easy to fix and the story would be thousand times more better, if you just don’t let her write the details.

        4
        1

I actually think this story would’ve been hard to pull off even for a good writer. It plot holes aren’t that easy to fix, because the entire premise of the show is based in flimsy computer science. It needs someone who knows about THAT to start at all.

          1
          5

I think I can fix them with or without Sci-fi (sorry I am a part theoretical physicist).
But a lot of beanies had good theories which would fit well. Obviously the hardest part about is to be not lazy in your effort and this writer was too lazy with her plot.

            1
            0

Well the more I know. Please madam theoretical physicist we need more people like you to write. One of my favourite sci fi authors has a PHD in Mathematical Physics and it SHOWS,

            1
            0

Let’s just say that for some of us it might be easier to fix, but for the average writer who doesn’t have any concept of comp sci or theoretical science or game programming? Not so easy.
And yeah she’s lazy because she makes no effort to learn how even basic story telling works, and never sits down to think about what her story needs and how it’d work. She essentially just wings it.

            1
            0

who is your fav sci-fi author? Mine is Issac Asimov.

            Hannu Rajaniemi.

She probably should have worked in a team again, just like when she wrote Queen In-hyun and Nine.

        4
        0

That’s exactly what I said! Let someone polish it and execute it.

        1
        0

Right! Keep her as the big idea guy but then I would assign her an (organized) co-writer, and🤔 I would also give one to the Hong Sisters.

Park Seo Joon does it best. And by best I mean this bad boy smirk that makes my knees go weak. He’s just pure WOW in this photo.

Memories of Alhambra #12

Someone needs to punch that oppa “who’s practically her family” in the face. Hard.

Who else was disappointed Professor Cha game ID wasn’t “NoFace”? 😂

These two scenes couldn’t be more different.

I love you, Binnie, but that was one of the worst kiss lead-up scenes I’ve ever watched. I feel bad for him because he had to say those lines.

Ugh! Hey this girl has a crush on me and I am a person with no heart so yeah ‘hey girl, give me some action to show me you care’ Ugh! What is wrong with him?!?!

    3

Why does he need proof? Is it because he doesnt believe in himself too? So he needs validation from others? JW’s thinking is just weird.

Song Hye Kyo chose a bold project after her marriage. You go, girl! I thought we’d get only longing gazes… Oh boy, I was so wrong.

Did they really shoot those steamy scenes alongside with episode 1? The emotions and chemistry felt totally different from what we saw in episode 1 where they looked a bit awkward. Respect for both Park Bo Gum and Song Hye Kyo.

this drama has the feel of classic HW/ french movies.. its romantic and poetic in a slow kind of way

the drama for winters.. when you are home.. cozying in your blanket and its the perfect night to feel emotional

I was about to concur but then remembered that this drama is a sageuk and I don’t like sageuks so I would prefer her to take something else.

    3
    1

Heh. Exactly. And since I’m probably one of the very rare people who don’t get smitten by Woo Doo-hwan and Yang Se-jong’s charm, I prefer Park Se-wan to take another drama.

Dearest Beanies,
it’s 8 PM here in my country and we’ve started counting till the midnight. I’m ending this year in a Korean style. Let’s hope I won’t get too drunk because I’m a lightweight drinker 😄

I’ve been visiting Dramabeans for almost 10 years but registered an account only in March this year. I never expected to find such a warm and welcoming community. Thank you for letting me become one of Beanies.

Out with the old, in with the new: may you be happy the whole year through. Happy New Year!

Three of my favourite actors in a variety show together! This looks EPIC and I can’t wait, I’m giggling like a school girl ☺️☺️☺️

Barista Sohn Ho Joon and chef Yoo Yeon Seok are looking good!

Two leads for the upcoming drama “My Country” were confirmed by JTBC.

Looks like Woo Do Hwan has a meatier role while Yang Se Jong is a good guy once again *sigh* 😕

They’re both in Romantic Doctor right? I just remember I haven’t picked up that drama for more than two weeks. I’m already half-way, I can’t decide whether I should drop it or not. I hate those two in Romantic Doctor 😄
Kim Sabu and the other one (I think the anaesthesia doctor?) are the only normal ones in doldam. The young doctors, OMG, I can’t stand their attitude.

Memories of Alhambra episode 8:

Guys, Jin Woo likes Hee Joo’s tears 🤣🤣🤣

12
16

I admit, I started laughing. Probably not what they were going for, but what can you do.

    9
    1

I shouldn’t really, but I did too. After all this talk about how she did nothing by cry, alas, that became the main reason our hero fell for her. 😂😂 At least the writer knows that’s all the reason be why we have a romance on the plate?

      5
      0

Hahaha. I realized this too. He likes it. Theres nothing we can do now. Shes going to turn into a faucet by the end of the series.

    9
    2

She’ll need an IV soon to stave off dehydration. I’m actually shocked we’ve gotten this far into the drama without her hooked up to one, but then she really hasn’t done anything yet.

      8
      0

Please. Let’s not even forget how she passed out in the car just like that. I cannot. Hee Joo cannot survive in a country that rains… Please, I’d suggest Jin Woo that they better move to one that doesn’t rain by end of this drama. Poor girl.

      6
      2

South Koreans are very susceptible to falling ill from the rain. I have learned this from dramas, and it makes me wonder what the heck is in their raindrops.

        6
        1

Actually the rain is pretty toxic from all the pollution (acid rain). At least that’s what my relatives say when I make fun of them for FREAKING OUT because of no umbrella.

How you can develop a bad cold in the 30 minutes after you get rained on is beyond me, though.

          3
          1

Oh. Lets not forget she magically changed clothes when the driver put her in bed hahaha

            3
            0

This! She suddenly fainted but thats okay-ish since at first i thought she suddenly fell asleep which was even worse. Haha

        3
        0

As if there is anything else to her! He had no other options 😀

    5
    1

LMAO yes, but really, whatever else can the reason be why he “fell” for her, other than the fact that she cried genuinely for him? He hasn’t seen any sides of Hee Joo worth falling for, other than that.

      5
      0

Im dying reading all the comments here. And here i was trying to be openminded because handsome woojin was “moved” by her tears.

    6
    1

The thing is, it’s quite logical (at least 70% logical which I’ll gladly take) from Jin-woo’s jaded point-of-view. It must be rare for him to see other people getting close to him without any ulterior motives.

      3
      0

So he has a ‘tear fetish’??? 😂
