I have dubbed him Bead Boy. From here on out he shall only be known as Bead Boy.
Unless I forget, which is also pretty likely, so this is not a fast rule.

I would like the Bead Boy to have a redemption arc or at very least a change of sides. Please and thank you. Has he done dastardly things and sold children into slavery? Yes… and?
The Bead Boy is unloved and used by his father and only wants to be accepted as his father’s son. His father doesn’t care about him and will readily betray him to save his own skin, and his brother is a sociopath (and clearly the real villain of the show.)
The only people that care about him are his found family of bastard mercenaries! What better set up do you want! Protect the Bead Boy and his Beads at all costs! Give the Bead Boy a change of sides!

Do I have much hope the show will do this and won’t just kill Bead Boy off? Noooo… but he’s immortalized in his nickname now anyhow, so he will always have a safe space in Melonia if they do him dirty. I mean look at him! Look at those sad eyes! Zuko Redemption Arc For Bead Boy Advocacy 2021. Ahem.

Also, I’m pretty sure the Bead Boy has actual long hair, because if you look at the nape of his neck you will notice there is no short hair disguised beneath the sangtu, rather hair actually pulled up under the manggeon. However, because Bead Boy’s actor is not very well known or largely followed and he doesn’t have an Instagram, I have found no images to support this. *sad face*
