after yesterday, today i had to rewatch ep 10 of The Light in Your Eyes again…
i just LOVE the youthful images cast next to the elders while riding the bus at the ocean, and the soundtrack was so moving and perfect. the first time watching it, my eyes misted and my heart became so warm and fuzzy…
the second time, i was sobbing.
so beautifully done, the whole episode — it’s breaking my heart but i’m so invested in all these characters, i am also loving the overwhelming sadness…
my beautiful aunt suffered for 20 years from this disease, and there was a moment near the end when i visited her that suddenly she responded by clasping my hand tightly…
she was letting me know that she was listening and knew that i was there!
the realization, for those afflicted, is almost worse then being lost totally within the disease…

*Sigh* for the ending….. D.O look so mature in this movie and now I know why Park Hye Soo choose to drop AoY 2 to focused and prepare this movie. She need so many thing to learn, specially the tap dance.

my husband found it online… a bootleg copy with arabic subs with english subs over… both in white type so sometimes reading the english subs were difficult at times… and then, when the americans were speaking english, the original movie had hangul subs, which were under the arabic subs with english subs on top….

okay, this is why i am so happy that we (me, in seattle) are yet again experiencing another snowstorm tonight…
but dangit, my dramas are glitching online…

I love it as long as I have power.

I’m in the midwest and this is so accurate I don’t even know where to begin. I went to the same school for 15 years, and in that time, we had probably 4-5 winters in that time were snow was a few feet deep, but the only time we ever had a snow day was once when I was in kindergarten and it was just too cold.

    2
    3

      ah, but the difference is…

seattle has HILLS and we get WET SNOW which turns to ice at night, then snows again, more heavy snow and it’s just treacherous with 6″, much worse with more… i have over a foot now.

      2
      0

I’ve always been curious about that. When you get so much everything can’t close down all the time. I’d love more snow, love it, but not sure I could do the midwest’s winters.

      2
      1

i agree, the midwest winters and snow are SO COOOOLLLLDDDD!!!!!

here in the pacific nw it snows and stays around the 30s, with very few exceptions when it stays under freezing for a week – tho it’s fun when it does!

        1
        1

So here’s the thing. I don’t find the cold unbearable until it goes below zero. Single digits are when I start adding layers. Below freezing = Hat time.

I may be broken. Also, I hate the heat. Anything above 73 is just unseemly. Especially if there’s humidity.

          2
          2

i’m with you, i LOVE 72° weather! above that, i’m hiding inside or fanning myself incessantly…

            2
            0

I just get so angry in the heat because I’m so uncomfortable. Cold I can deal with – lots of layers and warm drinks and excuses to sit by a fire. There is no escape from the heat.

            1
            0

And unlike the midwest and other places that get more snow, PNW isnt as equipped to deal with the snow.

      1
      1

Oh for sure, and I totally understand that. I mean, if you don’t have the same resources to deal with snow it makes a huge difference, and it’s definitely safer to stay inside when you aren’t able to deal with it. I just find the fact that I think two feet of snow is no big deal whereas west coasters are in awe of three inches very amusing.

        1
        1

we go nuts because it’s so fun and RARE that we get a good dump of snow = enough to play, sled, ski, make snowmen, etc. in…

and if for any reason the weather in winter gets up to 60-65°, you’ll find crazy joggers out in running shorts and sometimes tank tops trying to soak up the little offering of sun…

seattle is rather kooky, i admit.

but we have HILLS and driving down on snow/ice is impossible, tho people still try like idiots when the STREET CLOSED signs are at the top of each hill…

          0
          2

I totally get the fear with the hills. Despite living in a flat state, my mom’s house is on top of a hill and driving up or down it in winter wasn’t an option if it hadn’t been salted and cleaned. I can only imagine it’s 100 times worse where it rains or melts and freezes. I have heard stories of people trying to drive down your hills.

I saw saw someone in shorts last week after the temps moved out of the negatives. And a woman in open toed flats with bare legs. I’m pretty sure the snow drives people here insane. Now we’re firmly in the 20s so scarves, hats, gloves are optional and shorts are spotted on occasion. Granted, when the wind starts blowing off the lake all bets are off. I realized that Hell freezing over would still be a tortuous experience. My eyeballs hurt the other day when it was like -10 and I forgot a hat.

            0

it’s the “transplants” that can’t handle seattle snowy driving… we who grew up here know how to do it safely.
            ; )

can you tell me how to get photos off of this Note9 and onto my Macbook Pro laptop? the Smart Switch thing doesn’t recognize my laptop… been having to upload to Dropbox, then download from my laptop… such a pain….

but i’m such a technotard, being an old person, you see… i got the Note because of the camera and the stylist — i like to write my grocery lists! very expensive grocery lists, huh….

i’m a low tech person, but that Note3 was literally dying… or maybe i dropped it too many times, cuz her screen isn’t cracked up like mine was…

I agree. The cinematography was beautiful to say the least. There were two things that annoyed me though:
[1] The Korean Music that started playing when they were dancing at the club. It broke the really awesome flow and tone the drama had up until then.
[2] SPOILER AHEAD: So not only is this a noona romance by a workplace/boss and employee romance?! Hmmm…Because she’s still involved in her ex’s life/family, this could get all kinds of stupid dramatic and I don’t think I’m looking forward to that all that much.

Our two leads are doing a bang up job though.

P.S. Bogummy’s English is pretty good!
P.P.S. I love the relationship between Soo-hyun and her secretary outside of work hours. Cursing and everything.

agree — the salsa music was great, and then yeah… why did they have to do that by introducing korean soundtrack…. was loving the vibe and the beat…

it did disappoint me to see the preview. why the formulaic trope?

I knew it would be good, but now I’m back on hiatus until the end of the year. Catch up with you after the New Year! And everything @hades said, ditto for me too. I said this a long time ago, like when I saw MDBC, but Bogum has the most beautiful face and he certainly knows how to use it. I’m also really disappointed about him working for her and cutting his hair. Can’t we just have him smile all day and snap pictures with his vintage camera for 16 episodes? No plot, you say? I’m not really watching this one for plot, TYVM. 😜

I was so surprised too! Like I thought it was going to be a light rom-com based on the first episode, but then it went real sad. If I knew from the beginning it was going to be sad, I think I would’ve been better prepared. Still working on my completionist problem!
