Kim Young-dae waits a Moon in the Day for revenge

The newest teaser has landed for ENA’s upcoming fantasy Moon in the Day, where we spend some more time with our tortured hero Kim Young-dae (The Forbidden Marriage) and his star-crossed fate with Pyo Ye-jin (Taxi Driver 2).

After being betrayed and killed by his lover Han Ri-ta (Pyo Ye-jin), Shilla aristocrat Do Ha (Kim Young-dae) had lingered on as a restless spirit in the mortal world, determined to one day get his revenge. But the opportunity doesn’t arrive until centuries later, when Do Ha’s spirit takes over the body of top star Han Jun-oh.

In the teaser, we begin with Do Ha’s resolve: “It took a long time to stand before you like this. This time, I’ll make sure to kill you first.” And in the accompanying text screen, we also read: “I met you at the end of 1500 years of waiting.”

With no memory of her past life though, Ri-ta’s reincarnation – firefighter turned bodyguard Kang Young-hwa – is confused by Do Ha’s behavior. She reminds him that, “I’m the person who came to save you,” and the appearing text screen tells us that we’re strapped in for a “dangerous and loving reincarnation romance.”

Proving that Young-hwa is sincere, we watch as she protects Do Ha from a car accident, warning him in the moment, “Han Jun-oh, get out of the way!” Do Ha is thus conflicted and we close the teaser as he thinks about their twisted fate: “You and me. It seems things will not match up for us till the end.”

Written by Kim Hye-won with PD Pyo Min-soo (The Third Charm, The Producers) at the helm, ENA’s webtoon adaptation Moon in the Day will be premiering next week on November 1.

I'm not sure about the story... but I have a weakness for Kim Youngdae since Extraordinary You and Cheat On Me, If You Can.

I first registered him in Shooting Stars, and loved him. I couldn’t continue Forbidden marriage so not sure if this will be too much for me too!

I dropped Forbidden Marriage despite really wanting to like it for ML - hoping this is better!

I've only seen him in Sh**ting Stars and The Forbidden Marriage, and loved him in both. I seem to be in the minority on this, but I find his face to be very expressive.

Cheat on Me if you can was fun ! Very olde skool thriller.

I have a soft spot for Kim Young Dae and Pyo Ye-jin is a delight, so count me in.

I don't trust trailers, so will approach this blissfully ignorant.

Melos and psycho killers are sold as rom-coms these days, so who knows...this could be very funny and sweet.

The story looks interesting and tragic but I'm not sure about the actors. I like them in comedy parts but they lack charisma and gravitas for this kind of role.

Love a reincarnation romance (and pretty happy with them being thick on the ground lately. Something’s bound to stick, right?). Love these leads. And if it turns out to be terrible like another recent version of this story? I’ll just watch Showtime instead.

For me, Showtime was one of the worst dramas with the reincarnation theme. This drama would have been way better without it, because it didn't serve the present story at all.

Noted. I’ve seen lots of people who loved it though, and I think I’m predisposed to like it (as I am with most dramas) so it’s still on the table for me!

It was fun for the ghost part, not he reincarnation part. I loved the FL's outfits.

I wasn't aware this was that much of a minority opinion, but I really didn't like Showtime, I thought it was really mediocre and disappointing, especially from the Mystic Pop Up Bar writernim.
I didn't really like the comedy or the reincarnation plot after a point, and I felt the chemistry between the cast was lacking due to the script not being up to par.... 🙈🙊
You know, just to add my oar to this predisposed boat. 😂😂😂

*script AND directing. I really didn't like the directing.

It wasn't my favorite drama for sure. I don't remember very well neither. My memories are that the past story was useless and the ghost family was nice and when they left, it was boring. I can't remember any couple scenes 😅

2

It's the kind of drama I seem to remember my review/ending feeling about more than the actual show, yes I agree lmao (also remember finding it a lot boring haha)

Showtime was immensely disappointing and incoherent to me, especially when compared to the wonderful Mystic Pop-up Bar. The reincarnation felt so forced and jarring to the present-timeline plot, which was also beyond boring by the end. And I'll risk committing DB sacrilege here - I found Park Hae-jin miscast and deeply uncharismatic in the role.

2

@ladynightshade I'll commit "sacrilege" with you then hahaha because I agree!!!

2

@ladynightshade To be honest, it's been a while since I had any expectations from him... 😅

Even though the leads make me iffy, I like the time slip concept.
The teaser is good. 🤞

I'm honestly interested in the story; though I'm not a fan of angsty melodramas usually, it's drawing me in. I've only KYD in Forbidden Marriage and I liked him in it, and I've never seen the FL in anything, so I don't have negative expectations of them. I'm just hopeful about their performance :)

I may be in the minority here cause even though I find KYD entertaining, I will check it out for Pyo Ye Jin. I have seen her work her way up since Fight For My Way and I am pretty happy for her

I really, really hope this will a positive turning point for Kim Young-dae as an actor. A bit of a minority opinion here, but I think he's got real potential to be a good actor (particularly in comedy - he's quite expressive), but still struggles with heavier material. He caught my eye in Extraordinary You and Sh**ting Star, but his other work has been mediocre. I want to root for him to succeed due to my long-lasting fondness for Extraordinary You and its cast.

"...my long-lasting fondness for Extraordinary You and its cast".

Same here. There was something so magical aout EY that we got invested in all characters.

KYD as the Lee Min-ho (Gu Jun-pyo) substitute was equally engaging.
Of course he has a long way to go ... that is why we are rooting for him

Hwaiting!!
