    Jo Seung-woo! That’s a lovely song – thanks!

      The pleasure is all mine.
I was sort of trying how to post video on my wall, since I’ve seen other beanies do. Last time I managed onky the link. Surprisingly it was quite easy.😀

#DWY Ep 8
1. Anybody shouted during this scene? What are you doing, girl??? Run for your life!!!**###!!!***
But well, what do I expect? Even if a truck of doom or any other vehicles for that matter run fast toward people in dramaland, they’d just stare blankly.

2. Among all gestures which tell whether a man is a gentleman or no, this one looks ridiculous. Why would you do something that I can perfectly do by myself?

12

I was telling her to turn on the torch in her mobile phone. She didn’t listen of course.

    3
    1

    Anybody shouted during this scene?

Me! Over and over. Turn on your phone flashlight! Call out loudly to that guy that just left! Get the pepper spray out of your purse and have it ready! Walk faster! And stop stopping in your tracks to answer your damned phone!

After that amount of stupidity, I don’t care if she falls in the pond. 😂

    7
    2

      A K-drama resident cannot out-run a trope … no, never.

      5
      1

I was in rage! She’s so deserve it if she falls in the pond.
      I just can’t stand stupidity.🤬

Growing up I heard a lot of (…who am kidding … still hear) – “I can’t abide fools!!” from my mother.

Guess what … she has all the love, patience, sympathy and concern for any and all drama characters!!

She’ll be like … “Awww poor thing … this and that … I wish I could hug her / him.”

I would have developed a permanent squint if I rolled my eyes each time she does that.

        Urgh!!

        5
        2

Yes, I shouted WHERE IS YOUR SPRAY??? 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

Determination is clearly isn’t enough. After a long watch while reading, and scrolling, and other mundane chores, I finally Dropped A Time Called You on ep 9.
After total failure attempt to enjoy time-travel theme –My surviving on watching STM and Grid was solely due to my love for JSW and LSY.
I have to humbly and completely acknowledge that we should stay away from each other, indefinitely. I hope JSW and LSY would never work on this genre again in the future.

I also dropped ATCY on ep9.
I might complete it in the future. Or I might not.

I wrote a note about their time-loops, and still I couldn’t comprehend. There are so many questions unanswered even after I tried reading comments from other Beanies. All in all, it’s romantic fairytale through and through.

You, Sir, have bewitched me body and soul, and I wish to see you on stage one day.

I swear all my words are PG. But Why can’t I post???

4
14

There is a post somewhere that mentions some of the ridiculous words that get pulled out as inappropriate. It is weird how the original comment will appear either a few minutes after it has been highlighted as a problem by the poster but most of the time it appears as if by magic on its own as if it had always been there and we are are overreacting.

    5
    2

The inappropriate words aren’t non-pg. They are usually words that might be used by bot ads.

    7
    1

I feel like at one point we won’t be able to write anything.

    3
    1

At some point, perhaps, there is a need to review the list of suspected bot content and assign additional criteria… Such as if you’ve been a Beanie for a while and have already posted content that was clearly flagged as human-written, perhaps can we accept that you using a word that might have been part of a arbitrary list of bot-flags is no evidence that you have, in a weird Kafka’s twist, suddenly woken up one morning as a full-sized bot.

      2
      1

Yes, I had this popping up on a message once and it did not contain any swear word or rude idea. It confused me because some of my sweaty posts went on without any issue…

sweaRy posts, you fecking stupid autocorrect. My posts aren’t sweaty, ffs.

Rewatching one of my beloved shows, Misaeng, while it\’s still on Netflix.

Thanks to the ever helpful FF button, I’ve finally finished Friends. Yayy!!!
After almost a month watching it, here’s my take:

1. I love Monica for all her traits. She may seems like a control freak, but she’s willing to change, and I love just how kind and dependable she is.
2. My second fav is Chandler. He’s not someone people usually go to for advice, but love his sense of humor and his loyalty.
3. I live for Monica and Chandler relationship. The episodes where they struggle to conceive and how they come stronger as a couple, to finally decide to adopt is my favorite scenes of the show.
4. I will certainly miss Chandler’ smile.

When will these actors realise, when they put too much make up, they\’re shifting our focus on their appearance instead of their skill; that they\’re actually sabotaging their own credibility as actors.

Rowoon’s marron lips are super distracting ngl

    2
    1

I can’t watch this drama as the caky make up on the ML’s face is distracting. Heavy make up seems becoming a trend again (think the 80s) which is really sad when so many leads could look so much better by just being themselves.

      2
      1

Personally for me, I prefer natural make up. It helps me connect more with the characters. The heavy make up creates a disconnect

Behind Your Touch seems to be a whole show of joke. Every one in this drama is very cartoon-ish, from the leads to its supporting cast. I should\’ve known from the title alone. Ep 4 is my limit. 👋

One of the classics. Plus this song has zero English. Enjoy!

Today seems like a perfect day to express my gratitude and to share my love for Jo Seung Woo. Thank you for being a ray of sunshine in addition to being INSANELY talented and hard-working person.

I loved him in Divorce Attorney Shin, and I didn’t even recognize him as being the actor from FoS. which I watched probably only beginning of ep 1

You should checl it now that you’ve fallen into his trap. You’ll love it. It’s THE best show I’ve ever watched.

Especially as I usually like investigations, procedurals, I don’t know why it didn’t appeal to me, I probably need to give it one more try

Today, I just want to appreciate the people that work hard behind closed doors to produce a work of art that we can enjoy. And of course I have a hidden agenda. @skirt you\’ll understand.

Thanks for sharing this!! Seconding your appreciation of the team that work behind the scenes to create art. And I love listening to creators talking about the behind the scenes process, so am enjoying this video lots!

This is interesting. I had no idea before how isolated the work of editors from the rest of the production team. I’ve always thought that at least the PD would sit beside the editor in the editing room, scouring through the many takes. We always talk about transitions between scenes. How many of the ideas come from the director? How about the execution, shooting the montage and shots needed for it, and relaying the ideas to the editors? Or is it vice versa? I also think the work of an editor is to maintain the overall balance of the one-hour episode. You have to properly intersperse the fancy shots throughout the whole episode, not only concentrating on certain parts. What about thriller dramas? You have to really know how to build the tension, making sure not to add anything that may tip the balance. Also, you have to be updated with the latest advancement in film technology. How much of the work should be delegated to the cinematographer? I am sure there are many software nowadays that helps with the process but the finer parts of it? How long you should stay on the scene/shot to deliver the scene effectively and stir the appropriate emotion? Because every timeframe counts. It must have taken a lot of time, effort, and experience to produce a good edit. I think there is no end if I start thinking about their work. I mean, yeah every job in the world is a challenge. However, it must have been a huge responsibility for them as a drama is the fruit of labour of thousands of people involved in it.
On a lighter note, hehe… Of course, Shi-mok is a revelation. I cannot help thinking in the hands of lesser actors, Shi-mok will be quite one-dimensional. I can imagine someone else portraying him as cold and emotionless due to his medical condition. But I’ve never once thought he is emotionless; instead, I found him a bit like a child. He is always curious and there is a child-like innocence and one-track-mindedness in how he approaches people. Props to the actor playing him, everyone knows who.

    3
    1

Couldn’t agree more about Shi Mok being played by the actor. I think I won’t love Shi Mok this MUCH if he were played differently: the gait, the tone, the attitude, and pretty much everything about him.

Thanks for sharing this (plus I’m a fan of Song Yoon-ah).

This editor is definitely a master on her own – having edited all the classics like FoS, My Ahjusshi, Miseang and Under the Queen’s Umbrella. Not surprised at her nominating Cho Seung-won as the best actor but Im Si-wan being named is quite something.

Really enjoy this clip – thanks so much!

    1

I liked her movie Wedding Dress. I bawled my eyes out watching them. Im Si Wan in Misaeng was Good! I think he is the best idol actor to this day. He picks various roles and actually pretty good at it. Sometimes I can feel even some actors (not only idol) wanting to look good in front of camera, but not him. I respect that from him.

      1
      1

And he has really tried different genres and varying roles – good on him.

I’ve watched it for a while and still I find myself in awe at her dedication. We mostly know PD, but not the editor who’s actually responsible for the final process before it’s served to us. It’s very unfortunate they can’t interact with actors.

Very interesting conversation between actress and editor!

    Thanks for sharing it 🙂

Let it be known that I’ve at least tried! Been hearing rave reviews about Revenants from beanies, so despite my reservation on the theme ‐-supernatural thingy isn\’t my cup of tea, I gave it a try. I’ve come to like Kim Tae Ri since The Handmaiden and Oh Jung Sae has been doing great in all his supporting characters given so far; in my mind, I had good motivation. I did try until ep 3 before I gave up.
Let me be clear, I found the acting great; but I just couldn\’t truly enjoy it. In those 3 hours, my brain worked extra hard. A part of it telling me to just enjoy it but then there\’s something bigger that kept telling me it\’s nonsense and so on. So I stopped.
It reminded me of something; I\’d better stay away from this genre. It won\’t work. Just stick to the ones that I\’m okay with.

Episode 3 was easily the weakest, and silliest, of the show for me. I am not surprised you’ve thrown in the towel (or tossed away the tea) at this point. However, the show grew stronger, if unevenly so, after that.

That said, sometimes, a particular genre, a show just isn’t for us. Hope you’ll find a better cuppa somewhere else.

I actually tried to watch My Dearest. I used to like political saeguk, like Dong Yi and The Princess’ Man. But recently It’s hard for me to even finish ep1. Fushion saeguk, I don’t mind but the pure saeguk these days are missing something. The actors wear traditional attire and such, but their mannerism don’t particularly match. I kept thinking the actors just role playing in a traditional hanbok. I wish directors and actors pay more attention to their work. Because it shows and hard to miss.

      1
      1

The tone in MD is odd. The couple arc is mostly fluff and fusion. But the politics and tragedy foreshadowing definitely feel traditional sageuk. I appreciated both, but IMHO it didn’t quite work together as a whole. However, I think it’s going to go all in with the latter if you’re gonna hang around for a bit. I mean, they’ve already declared war.

        1
        1

IKR? I love the colors of their handbok and was entranced by the visual, but the moment they move and speak, it loses its charm.

I was considering to post this under TUC 2 Recap, but a part of me thinking it won\’t be appropriate since none of this cover the plot though it\’s part of ep 1.
I’ve never been big on shows with revenge and violence. I did watch S1 with my friend, though. She loves this kind of show. Was it counted when I just glanced from time to time?
So, there are two things that came to my mind:
1. When the song ‘Magic Castle’ was played, I was asking myself, ‘Is this the original singer?’ Then, since I watched God\’s Gift 4 Days, I couldn\’t help myself but comparing it to Ki Dong Chan\’ version – I love it more.
2. I noticed Mun has extra power now. #wink in disbelieve. It\’s just sudden.
Does anyone think about Levitation Charm and Imperius Curse from Harry Potter? I did instantly and I was sure the writer got the ideas from the book.

Dramabeans, please don’t ruin the image of Mr. Darcy for me by comparing him with the like of Gu Won. Mr. Darcy was a hard-working and loved by his workers. He didn’t just exist to woo Lizzie.

I have a few chosen words for this Darcy wanna-be that will get me beheaded by his fangirls. lol

    5
    2

I was shocked when I saw this on twitter. Did I somehow miss crucial fact about the drama? He has a loooong way to go if we are to compare them. Let’s be real, shall we?

      4
      0

I’m a huge fan of the actor, but not the character, not how the actor plays this character, nor the show at all. To compare him to Colin Firth’s Darcy is sacrilege.

So while I can’t speak for all fangirls, some of us have Sense as well as Sensibility. 😉

      2
      1

It’s scandalous! I had the novel and watch Matthew’s Darcy from time to time. He has my heart and soul. Suddenly someone came and tries to compare them? I watched KTL till ep 2 and it couldn’t be farther than the truth.

IKR? He didn’t care about people opinion on how to dress himself as an actor. He just put on something he’s comfortable with. It seemed like he said, ‘I’ve given my best at work. My personal life is none of your business.’

      4
      1

        💙💙💙
I personally don’t care for what actors do in their personal life and it’s refreshing to see there is one actor who doesn’t care about how he is seen. From whatever I have seen/read so far he seems like a very chill person who is just passionate about things he likes to do.
How I wish I could go to SK just to watch this.
