The Untamed: The Butterfly Talisman

Judging from their conversation and the way they looked at each other, I guess this talisman is a pretty important memento. Probably something WuXian either purposefully or accidentally left and WangJi kept it around for years. The thing is, I can’t remember which past scene they were referring to. Anyone got any idea??

      Actual Scene:
      If you recall in the drama, there is one scene when WX meets up with LXC at a restaurant where LXC tells him that LZ is learning music to help WX…
      In original scene, LZ has gone to the market and suddenly flowers are thrown at him…it is WX.. WX asks him to come eat with him, WX said it jokingly and threw one flower on him that landed at his ear (just as he drew him at gusu during library punishment).. LZ kept this flower .. in second life, WX is randomly going through LZ’s stuff and see he used a flower as his bookmark..

      In Drama
      When around ep 10, after WX and LZ have captured XY and reach NHS kingdom, older brother tells LWJ that LXC is looking for him. That night WX goes and sits on LZ’s roof while LZ leaves at night… during those scene, WX gave talism to WJ.. which he uses against Wen to escape ( remember after ep 10.. when LWJ reaches gusu he is stopped by Wen Yao in his path and uses the talism and runs away with Wen Yao shouting that he knows these can be only WX’s creation)

      Significance of this scene is ->
      It means, LZ kept that talism not in his room, no in his treasure box.. BUT ON HIMSELF… all these years, all the time.. and obviously did not use it (rather wasn’t going to use it)…and you can be sure that it is not the case that no such situation ever came when LWJ could not have used it.. it just shows his love of keeping WX thing on him on his person all the time

        Ooohh… now that you mentioned it, I remember those scenes. (Thank you, finally it can stop bugging me) It’s pretty sweet of WangJi to keep a memento from WuXian on himself all these years.

    I’ve wondered the same thing, so hopefully somebody will know! Did they ever have a talisman that made butterflies?

      I don’t think this is a scene from the novel. And since the drama is full of easter eggs, I probably missed the reference from the earlier eps.

    The only other scene I remembered this being used is at Koi Tower when Wangji used it (or was it WuXian?) to distract the others so they could run away.

    Is it the one he put on the uncle’s back during class?

    I have no clue – but I’ll look for a reference to it in my rewatch.

    It’s probably just a touch added by the drama to convey what regards LZ holds WY in. He was against his demonic cultivation practices but still kept talismans made by him .

      That’s probably it. The way WangJi almost smiled looking at WuXian’s genuine grin is just awww…

    WWX used that talisman atleast 1-2 times in the past (I forget the exact instances though). So I understood it as LZ having held on to it as a momento to WWX for over 16 years. A small piece of his beloved to remember him by.
