    Erm, so I’m on a Shinee binge as you know. And this is really good – all that magical MV is quite gorgeous. This song took me to Taemin’s recent solo “Want” and I wonder what happened – when it came out last month I didn’t like ti much, but right now I really like it.

      I’m glad it’s growing on you! Sometimes I hear album versions and I’m “meh” on it until I see the live and then I’m in love! Excuse Me Miss is a good example. I didn’t care for it on the album but saw the live and now it’s one of my favorite shinee songs! (Granted that’s a rather long list 😂)

    Wow, that is absolutely gross. I knew Warner Bros. did DF dirty, but this? This is stunningly bad.

    Oh wow. This explains a lot. I work in civil rights and these kinds of cases can be REALLY hard to prove, and while it sounds like they have some decent evidence of discrimination, whether it’s a winnable case is iffy. It’s not looking good for WB that they only fired the Asian-American execs though. Like, come on, how did you not see a lawsuit coming? If they can prove that DF was losing money/causing legal issues they have a bit of a leg up. But also, there’s an issue if DF can’t prove that this discrimination exists throughout the entire company. Unfortunately, just being kind of racist isn’t really enough. Employment law is the worst because it really heavily favors the employer which sucks.

      I agree. It won’t be easy to prove. But I hope these guys have some solid stats to bring these morons to the limelight.

        Like, honestly? IMO there has to be really blatant discrimination proven throughout the company to win, and I don’t see that happening. Especially not if WB an show that they sustained damage/loss because of DF. It may be even harder to prove if they limit the scope to just the subsidiary company in question too. I don’t doubt that there may have been racist intent (whether conscious or unconscious) but unfortunately proving it is gonna be really hard.

        It sucks, because there’s no real way to fix this kind of thing through the law. While law is good at creating equal footing it can be hard when the gatekeepers still have the high ground. The issue is not just that there’s discrimination – it’s also lack of opportunity that creates these disparities, and until all people are given the same opportunities nothing will change. This is why representation matters in all industries, both in the visible and invisible parts.

    Well, that’s certainly interesting. I wonder if this means Warner Bros. has abandoned its plans to continue releasing Asian content and is therefore getting rid of all their Asian employees?

    I remember reading a while back about two of the founding execs. of DF being given their own department to head in Warner Bros. after DF was shut down. But now, looking back at it, it’s shocking that they had fired Seung Bak, the third founding member, and of the two brothers they kept the one based in the US looks not one bit like he’s Asian.
