Beanie level: Errand boy

You know, I really like Kim Ji-seok in this role. (When the Camelia Blooms, ep. 5)

FFd through premiere of Melting… Did we need to see WJA soar through the air twice to pound home that this was Do Bong Soon goes Frozen??? Such a waste of talent.

Finally watching the last episode of Be Melodramatic, and I cannot believe what I am hearing as Ms. Writer and Mr. Producer are leaving the tent bar. NOT THAT SONG! Not a good reference, show.

Yay for a good ending, Rookie Historian! So happy about how everyone ended up.

    Spoilers ahead —

I found the bloody rebellion at the beginning hard to watch, so I was really glad that the restoration took place without any visible bloodshed. I’m glad to know the circumstances that compelled big brother Goo to betray Soraewon. I’m glad the Second Councillor met his end offscreen. I’m glad the king appeared to have retired, and that the Crown Prince got to be king after all. I’m glad Dowon/Yi Rim and Hae-Ryung worked out an arrangement that suits them both, even if I’m skeptical it would have been accepted in their time. I’m glad SH found her place as a teacher. (And did the Crown Princess also get free of her marriage?) Finally, YAY for the historians, truth won out in the end!

Jae kyung was so young and was literally given the choice of doing that or watching his friend did. I mean , there was not a good option either way and to have that eat at you for 20 years on top of being a kid raising a kid.

Did the King retire? I thought he met the same fate as Second Chancellor Min. I just can’t see the Queen keeping him alive.

Yes, the Crown Princess did get her divorce. She mentioned it while saying she was tired of wearing mourning clothes.

I am so glad that this series did not have couples getting together for the sake of it. The show in the end was not about that.

Especially happy to walk away from this drama with warm feelings, not frustrated at aimless plot lines or useless characters or things that should have happened but didn’t or things that happened but shouldn’t have. Not that this show didn’t have its failings, but what it did right just drowned them all out.

I do have a complaint though. 40 episodes and we only got Seol-guem and Rim’s court together for one a 2 minute scene.

      Criminal. Criminal.

Rookie Historian looked like a flawless masterpiece today compared to Let Me Hear Your Song Mon & Tues. Made me so happy.

Yay! I’ve been completely smitten with this show lately. It’s the one Ive caught up on, eve. Though I’ve been too busy!!!

the shot between Haeryung and Rim while talking about Ho Dam and Yeongan tho, that gave me chills because of the implication that they lived on through their kids.

I’m going to be so sad if the show ruins our Jin-Rim brotherly duo at the very end 🙁

It’s been consistently good and I’m enjoying it immensely. Sad that it’s gonna end next week..

Almost. Almost. If only Prince YiRim’s (the ML) character had more depth, was written & acted better. But yes compared to i dont wanna listen to your disharmonious song, this is awesome.

Is the directing? Script? I feel like Let Me Hear Your Song is stumbling along with lead shoes. I\’m hoping Prof. Song will turn out to be the chief villain, just for a plot twist. Please, anything!

While watching an episode and getting bored, I rewrote the story into my mind, where YY’s doctor cousin is the biiig bad and evil chief of all the situation (maybe helped by mother and father? I have to think about it…)

    3
    1

The big bad villain implanting post hypnotic suggestions and false memories? This is perfectly possible in a kdrama since there is the One hospital with the One therapist, so it’s inevitable that the one doctor would see everyone of importance… woooo

        Too funny!

I was hoping Yi-young and her cousin are the baddies while Yoon and Joo-wan will solve the case and become best buds but this show keeps getting dumb and I’m still watching it.

I actually thought for a moment that the show was headed toward that weird twist, that YY would turn out to have been playing the innocent all this time. But no, I’m afraid this is just a straight road with all the scenery laid out in front of us, and it’s just a matter of how slowly we’re going to creep toward it. In two hours this week, I think we got two big revelations: 1) YY never dated his brother (so he can love her without any guilt) and 2) YY did plunge the knife into Ian’s body, but it was totally not her fault (though why was she running around with it open like that????? just an accident waiting to happen. Who thinks up this stuff, anyway???) Also two small revelations: a) it was Ian’s mother’s lawyer who handled his death (did she have something to hide??), and b) all the professors and only the professors got the secret pen (back to my wishful thinking about Prof. Song being a villain).

Also, I understand that YY running from Prof. Kang was the writer’s way of putting her in harm’s way, so she would face the headlights of the oncoming car and remember what happened that night. But seriously, could she have done anything more foolish than run away? Why not sit there and call Yoon to come pick her up??? She reminded me of a panicked rabbit.

          3
          2

The show could give us a reveal in a pretty smart and creative way but Yi-young is just being plain dumb all this time. I loved this show but it’s going downhill since last week…

I, too, originally thought this drama would be a wonderful noir tale with our heroine as a femme fatale playing the innocent victim, spinning her web of deceit to trap her next victims…but as you said, it seems head down the straight and narrow. No diabolical twists.

This could have been a really cool cult favorite!

So is it just me, or does anyone else have the feeling that the I-knew-you-at-a-traumatic-moment-when-we-were-children trope is about to surface in Rookie Historian GHR?

    I hope not!

    A. She has a backstory and maybe her parents aren’t who she thinks they were. B. He has a backstory and it sounds like his father isn’t who he thinks it is. C. Something happened 20 years ago that probably affected them both, and it’s related to the story of Ho-dam (who, for whatever reason, is showing up in the prince’s dreams). D. Hmmmm

Gu Hae-ryung, why are you letting that woman with smallpox take your hands?????? Forget the little girl, you are going to be the smallpox carrier, #!*#@#*!!!!!

That was so stupid. They should have kept their masks on and kept distance.

I was thinking the same thing. Don’t touch her! If she was afraid the daughter might be a carrier, then after holding the mom’s hands, wouldn’t she be as well?
okay, so little bit of lost logic in this plot-hole here….

What’s happened now? 😰 spoil away please

We’re into the finale this week augh. This drama is just painful

Several scenes involving a knife, someone dissipates, someone is murdered, someone is devastated. No matter how they are gonna to wind this up — alternate universe? — it can’t compensate for this.

      1
      1

I have this sinking feeling that there really will be an alternate universe where all the dissipated angels and their lovers go for a second chance. We’ll get to see all our angel friends not only reunited and happy but admitting that God had their best interest at heart all along. And Dan and YS will grow old together.

Yikes! 🙈🙈 reading this is already a torture to my brain. I loathe this writer so much. Never again will I fall into her trap. Not even actors she will cast ever make me watch her dramas. And to think I subscribed to Kocowa just for this drama.

Hate alternate universe plots the most! This is why I’m not a fan of marvel movies. Like in an alternate universe, this all didn’t happen and the emotions and thoughts you’ve put into the plot that just unfolded are gone wasted cuz this is the alternate universe! 😑

Angel’s Last Mission – Do I even want to watch next week? I’m so frustrated with your split personality. Don’t you know that what you do best is put Dan and YS together in comic conflicts and subtly sweet romantic moments? So why do you keep interrupting these moments with death and destruction plots that don’t even make sense? How is it that suddenly YS can’t escape death, or that an “archangel” is spouting nonsense about destiny? Or that Dan can be 100% there when it matters, but transparent the morning after? How is it that Dan, who couldn’t even lie, is now fine with killing someone? Even though he’s still an angel? And he just has to rush off to do this on his wedding morning? In a black suit? (Subtle contrast there to his original white outfit….) Can’t you show a little more creativity than that? Arrgggh!

Wait a minute? Dan killed someone? I dropped it back in ep 10 but I am VERY interested to know more about this piece of info 😀

It’s a cliffhanger. He said he was ready and willing, and we left him marching toward the villain to do the dirty deed.

I\’ll be waiting for Kim Young Kwang\’s next drama. I don\’t care what genre, except not horror please. So looking forward to see what he can do with his next character.

Can\’t decide whether Do Min Ik is cuter when he is pouting or when he has a goofy, happy grin. Thank you, show, for giving us so many chances to ponder that question today.

Angel’s Last Mission Ep. 10 — Let’s just think about this a minute.

Her dad dies.
Her mom dies.
She has a terrible “accident” and is blinded.
Her guardian dies in a fatal “accident”, and she nearly dies too.
The guy who worked in lighting in her theater is found in the river.
And then she’s supposed to jump off a rooftop….

And no one would figure out that there’s a pattern here? Come on, evil cousin. This is just a little too heavy-handed for winning your sister the lead in the show, and too blatant for you to get away with murder again. Kinda seems like you’re in the wrong drama.

\”You don\’t have any right to meddle with my feelings.\” YES!!! Way to go, YS!!!!

Just have to rant about JKW in this scene from Angel’s Last Mission:

JKW: Your sadness over Kim Dan is nothing special. I’ve been sad, too. You can’t do anything with sadness.
YS: It must be your ballerina friend who was laid to rest at the temple….
JKW: End of conversation.

Oh, yeah, you can be all over her love life, but she can’t even touch the memory of yours. So glad she sees through you, you arrogant jerk.

Re Angel\’s Last Mission: What if Dan\’s mission (love) was to experience love because he had none in his short life? Not romantic feelings. Real self-sacrificing love. Isn\’t that what\’s happening?

I would love that! It doesn’t matter if there’s no romance although Dan and YS are cute together.

It would have been more interesting if they show what is the true meaning of love. Love doesn’t need to be romantic.

      Correctumundo @outofthisworld and @lindag!
In my book to love another person is to:
      respect their person-hood
      period.

We don’t even have to like them – but give them the respect as another human being.

granted this is hard to do with serial murderers, rapists, drug peddlers, and idiot treasonous presidents – but you get my drift

First HPL makes me go pick up the Four Loves by C S Lewis to compare Romantic Love to fangirling, then this comes along and has the perfect set up to show Agape but God (lol) only knows if they will or not. *Eyeroll* *do you know how many dramas actually deal with this kind of love?* *Like none* *except for Lookout and they only brushed the surface of that*

I was surprised at the end of today’s Angel’s Last Mission to see it was ep. 7. From the ending, I thought it must be ep. 13 or so. Poor YS, just when life was looking up, noble idiocy kicked in.

This drama is knocking me off my feet because we’re getting our tropes MUCH earlier than usual

It feels great but I’m worried at the same time…
