I revisited you this week, and you set my heart alight, just as, and perhaps more than, youโd done before.
Your turns of phrase are exquisite, alluring me to stay in your soft, bright world forever.
Your romantic (adventurous, idealistic, whimsy) nature is delicious, making the mundane the stuff of dreams.
You make me want to run, to sleep in wild cherry trees, to quote every piece of poetry Iโve ever known, to feel each individual petal of the flowers adorning the White Way Of Delight.
And most of all, today, you made me conscious of the beauty around me, when I was struggling to find any.
Thank you.
Love,
February
(From me, Anne and Gilbert (both in full bloom), the creek that is finally burbling again, the green in the grass, and Anne Of Green Gables.)
Thank you and thank you, Ra On Ah! A lovely week to you too! (Anne is amazing. I got to read it aloud with my feet crunching the leaves the other day.. so lovely.)
โWillows whiten, aspens shiver.
The sunbeam showers break and quiver
In the stream that runneth ever
By the island in the river
Flowing down to Camelotโ
This is after she almost drowned! Love that book, and itโs been too long since Iโve read it! From all hopeless romantics, thank you!
I havenโt, no! Thereโs a part of me that wants to, but I know Iโm going to struggle to see anyone else but Megan Follows in the role. Iโll check it out though, thanks!
An Unfortunate Lily Maid is my favourite chapter 😂
Interestingly I was looking at Prince Edward Island photos the other day and dreaming about visiting someday. Maybe I should read the books again.
Itโs such a great chapter, isnโt it? It captures the whimsy – and Anneโs character, with all of her silliness and flaws and beauty, so well! (Plus, Gil. <3)
I hope you get to go some time! I think thatโs one of my top spots I hope to visit one day.. My grandma loved living there, she says.. (The answer is always yes, you should.)

Yes! Gosh, I know it isnโt in the book – but I love the โfishing for lake troutโ moment so much.
I memorized that poem, and Bingen On The Rhine, after reading it once upon a time…
Iโm so glad to revisit it, it always brings such joy! Hope you can too, some time… (or you can experience vicariously through my squeals. 😉)

Arenโt they just? 😍 Happy to share! (Itโs kind of obligatory, honestly.. Considering Anne and Gilbert are rooted right next to each other!)
