I know this was a tense moment but I all could think about was how cute wears Woo Hyeol using his ears as antenna!!

In case you didn’t know… I love Taec!

King the Land episode 2 was so much better… and funny!!! Oh, I am so relieved…

Did anyone mention Junho in leather?

Ha!

King the Land, you’d better improve. Babe’s visuals are not good enough to stick if the story is this boring. You promised comedy… where is it? (Please, don’t say in the toilet 🙄)

7
4

Ha, I really enjoyed it and the humour worked for me, including the ridiculous parachute landing (and parachute jokes) and yes, even the toilet. 😆
I must be in the right mood. 😁

    2
    1

      I never enjoy toilet humour.
I obviously enjoyed Junho, but mainly I was disappointed on episode 1 😕

      3
      1

It highly depends on my mood.
I had to teach this morning in a very hot and stuffy class (we are having a heat wave here), kids were obviously tired and cranky… and waiting for the summer holiday to start… so some simple (and even toilety) humour at the end of the day was just the right thing for me. 😄
I think I will add Real soon 😁

it should improve.. i dont want to drop Yoonas drama… please dont make me pity myself to pick this drama… please

It’s King the Land day!!!!

I’ve been waiting for this for more than a year!!!

Beanies, I did something crazy today.

I gave it a lot of thought. Said yes, then no, then yes, then no, then again yes, then definitely not.

I was sure it was a no.

But today the universe proved it had another plan for me.

I booked tickets to Japan. When I first looked the prices it was crazy high, and I had decided I was going to go on October (for 2PM concerts), so I said: no way. You’re not paying a fortune for a plane ticket.

But Universe is tricky, and whispered on my ear today: why don’t you check? And prices had gone down almost by a half.

If this was a signal, I don’t know what else could be.

So, beanies, I bought the tickets and on July 22nd and 23rd I will attend Junho’s concerts in Yokohama.

I. Still. Can’t. Believe. It.

Yay!!!!!

26
19

Waow ! You will see twice the same concert?

How long will you stay in Japan?

I really liked it when I went. But I didn’t go to Yokohoma.

    1
    1

If I cross half the world to see babe, I will see him twice!! So yes, twice the same concert just to savour completely!!

I will stay only for one week. And three days in Yokohama for the concerts, rest of the days in Tokyo. I had already been in Tokyo (not in Yokohama) but there are always new things to do there!

      4
      2

        Yeah, it’s a nice city!

Enjoy your concerts and your trip!

As much as I loved my distracting foxes, that ending didn’t make any sense: what happened to big baddie? If Yeon and Rang are happily reunited in 1938, how the hell are events in 2020 happening?

3
4

The Japanese demon died. I think the show made it clear that the events of the past don’t affect the current timeline. Basically the time travel is not with logic but a plot device.

I would have loved two Yeon in the climax fight. Would have been fun.

    3
    1

I’m not talking about the Japanese demon but the Joseon Mountain god, the original one, strong enough to blind Taluipa but that watches how Yeon disappears with the stone and does nothing 😳

      0
      1

        Oh right. Lol. Sawwry.
Yeah he stood there watching Yeon leave with the stone that he needs. Guessing that’s the season 3 plot?

it is a blindfolded dodgeball by this point.

Not only 2PM feeds my soul, because… Shinee is back!!!

Although I’m a bit concerned about Onew’s health, hoping for a speedy recovery and that he can join members in 15th anniversary activities soon💎

Tomorrow I’m watching Wooyoung last concert in Osaka (online, this beanie couldn’t make it to Japan this time). He’s been sharing so much content lately with us, I want to share this dance practice video of his latest Japanese single.

Whenever I see him dancing it’s hypnotic and I can’t stop thinking about the insane amount of hours he spent in practice room to make me feel every movement is this graceful and easy, as if he basically isn’t making any effort.

I hope he can release music in SK soon. It’s painful seeing that he and the rest of 2PM members are much more appreciated in Japan that they are in their own country.

7
0

It’s taken 5 years but… finally!! Wooyoung has made his comeback with this catchy song.

The album will only be released in Japanese, and that makes a me a bit sad because he’s been working so hard lately in so many varieties (Street Man Fighter, HK Coin, Fantasy boys, but it’s a fact that 2PM will never be prophets in their land.

Anyway, time to be happy today!! Please enjoy!!

I hate when a drama talks about a woman finding her own path and balance, turns out to be two men fighting over who has the right to win that woman. Doctor Cha please don’t go that way, because JeongSuk deserves better: she’s learning to stand for herself and is more than enough, she’s not just a man needs to win.

I has enough back in the day wirh Start Up where DalMi could have been a chair and those two men would still fight about who the damn chair belongs to, not even caring what her feelings were.

Two men fighting over a woman and not talking to her is the trope I don’t want to see, because it makes the woman just a thing to fight about. I know in Doctor Cha is made for comic purposes, but it’s not funny. Not a little bit.

11
7

Start Up’s love triangle made me dropped the show. I’ve never wanted a SL to mind his own damn business so much.
That show was all about lying to Dal Mi and telling her what to do.

    3
    2

I only survived it by mainly FF.

      0
      0

For me, Dalmi was the issue of the drama. Both male characters knew what they were doing. She had no reason to be in a start-up. She knew nothing about developping/coding or business. She had some ideas but it’s all. She failed the most important part to get the contract reviewed by their mentor…

      0
      2

As I said, she could have been a chair and the outcome of the drama would have been the same.

        1
        0

But that doesn’t change the fact that the guys were insufferable.

She can learn about business, programming or wtv and do well. Tbh, what’s the point of knowing everything is you can’t come up with one good proposal.
The attitude of the guys had no fixing, tho. At least for me.

        0
        1

They lied to her and they were wrong for that (but the grandma was the biggest responsible for that). But they were far more interesting than her. They had a backstory, they evolved, they created different relationship with the grandma. They came with all the work, she did pretty much nothing. When she had to take decisions, she didn’t listen Ji-Pyong and it costed them later, or she couldn’t take it and let Do-San doing it. Good proposal are nothing if you can’t make it work.

          1
          1

I don’t remember well the show, and I didn’t finished it. But I remember the feeling of wanting her to get help from other people instead of the SL, so I guess that for me she was a better character.

Ten minutes into episode 8 of The Good Bad Mother and I’m out. This is too much. I hope that woman goes to hell and never gets any redemption. So long drama. Not even LDH can make watch this.

12
11

After reading about the mother character withholding food from her son, and then withholding it again when he’s paraplegic, I never even started. 🤬 Presenting paralysis as a lack of willpower and abuse as a miracle cure? Really? If that were just the mother’s delusional and misguided approach, okay, but showing it as something that actually works to treat paralysis? Hell no.

And then I watched the scene I think you’re referring to – at the river, right? Holy sh*t, was that a dream (nightmare) sequence or something? Because if not, that was unforgivable. Nothing in the world can justify or redeem it.

    10
    1

      Wow, this show sounds horrible.
Where’s the “good” part they mention in the title.

      3
      1

I haven’t seen the good part so far in 8 episodes. That woman has more love for the memories of his dead husband that she will ever have for her son.

        5
        1

Same honestly, I was barely hanging on by a thread after all the other stuff and then the river bit just sent me packing completely. Absolutely appalling. I was desperately hoping someone else in the village would see what she was doing and try stop it, but then they made it worse by somehow presenting it as an effective cure.

    6
    1

It was bad enough watching her getting him out in the rain. I thought, she will leave him in the middle of the road, and that is it, but when I saw her throwing him into the water, I just stopped. There is no way I am going to watch that evil woman get her redemption after the absolute monster she’s been to her son!!!

      5
      0

Ever since they showed Young-soon withholding food and starving her son for extended periods of time as a child to “make him concentrate on his studies”, I lost all sympathy and firmly stopped rooting for any redemptive arc for her, despite the drama pushing for one. The whole cancer diagnosis and her continuing abuse after his accident has only made me more determined about it. I don’t care what the show is trying to portray, there is no redemption for a woman who still believes in depriving her physically/mentally disabled child of food. The scene at the river actually made me feel ill. I’m FF-ing through all scenes with her and Kang-ho. I’m not here for abuse apologia of any kind (which is 100% what the writer is doing by depicting Young-soon’s abusive tactics as effective – they’re not). I hope hell is hot enough for Young-soon. Good riddance.

The only part of the drama I’m “watching” are the ones with Mi-joo and her children. Every time she and the kids are on screen are a delight. Ahn Eun-jin is spectacular and the child actors are excellent.

    9
    1

I wonder: are there no disability advocates or child-abuse-prevention organizations in SK who can make some noise about this, similar to the way Crohn’s disease patients protested Dr. Cha? This seems much worse than that storyline. It’s not that there should be no portrayal of abuse, because it’s real and it happens, but pretending that it has therapeutic effects for spinal injuries is beyond nuts.

      5
      1

Of course, I can’t speak for local South Korean audiences or their child abuse prevention groups, but I will speak from another Asian perspective – parents are often seen as authoritative figures who have the right to “discipline” their children and rear them in whatever manner they see fit in order to make them productive and successful members of society. I know people in my own life whose parents have treated their children in ways comparable to Young-soon’s treatment of Kang-ho and it’s unfortunately not seen as abusive, even when it so obviously is. It would be seen as harsh, yes, but ultimately “necessary” and “good for the child”. After all, rearing them harshly did make them a prosecutor eventually, right? It’s awful and horrific and I hate it. There are so many adults and children who have been traumatized for life because of these kinds of parents.

The truth of the matter is that there are many local audiences watching who consider the mother’s perspective to be a valid one and her “plight” to be sympathetic. It’s beyond insane to us that abuse is being depicted as therapeutic, but a certain demographic of people genuinely do not see it that way.

        6
        1

          Thanks for sharing this.
And as you said before I would be ok-ish with certain awful tactics (as he one used when KangHo was a child… not ok, but I know this happens), but the fact that they try to show that the reason KangHo could move his hands to feel himself or stand up to save his mum, is just too horrible.
As amazing as LDH is here, I’m absolutely out.

          4
          1

Agreed 100%. It’s one thing to depict abuse, it’s a whole another thing to depict it as if it’s an effective way to recover from serious spinal injuries and a mental disability. I went into the show thinking that it would critique the mother’s abuse and show how ultimately harmful and traumatizing it was for Kang-ho, but the only thing the narrative has done so far is make excuses for it and justify the abusive behaviour.

Now I need to watch that drama!

          1

he´d be like “I have to cheer people UP???? F***u. …how much does it pay?” and maybe there are other supernatural beings working in a circus or theatre. and a wereowlf would be doglike, all glad and giddy and loving humans and the vampire would be “Imma throw up…I cant bare to watch”.
throw in a childrens´ hospice with tiny dying patients and him becoming desperate to keep the little friend with him, and it is a sure tearjerker. make him hold back and starve … almost get undone by it.
yeah, it would be a good drama.

🤣🤣🤣 Oh, this is awesome. Everything about this show already gives off the the campy, self-aware vibe that King the Land should have. If only they could have a crossover of the two story lines …

    2
    1

If only they showed us the funny part about KTL and not just the pretty. They have been filming for 9 months, and they still have one month ahead to shoot. I have the feeling everyone is tired of the shooting and I can’t help but think that it can turn into a total train wreck… 10 months for a 16 episode rom-com?

Reasons to watch Tale of the Nine Tailed:1938:

– Kim Bum in a vest.
– Lee Dong Wook in a vest.
– KB and LDW in a vest babysitting a baby girl.

Who cares about the story?

The vet is kinda hot too.

    1
    0

I’m betting on the pool and elevator scene, plus we Must have a 2PM cameo!

E, do you think we’ll ever get a concert announcement from them?

    3
    1

Not until Wooyoung tour in Japan is over. The tour ends on Jun 11th, and I’m counting that in the following 15 days they confirm the dates in Korea, which they have already spoiled would be August/September. Taec also said in his last fanmeeting in Japan, concerts in Japan would be in October.
So here I am, saving two weeks of my holidays to get ready and spend an indecent amount of money on a flight ticket to somewhere in Asia. It will depend where I can get the tickets for the concerts, as that would be a very complicated task, specially in Korea.

While I watched the documentary K-pop generation, it was explained how counselling is a part of the “subjects” trainees go through, so I guess companies are understanding this is an issue, and also a good thing that mental issues are talked about, but then his family and agency are asking for silence and respect, which I totally understand, but there is a big elephant in the room that needs to be addressed for the sake of everyone (idols, companies, fans, press, society in general…). This is happening too often and we only know when it’s a successful person, so it makes me wow ser how many have gone along the way. Too sad.
