Everybody learned about the truth this hour. 🤧

So Alex played dirty when he’d be employing ONLY the Samsan boys leaving our CEO Dal Mi and Sa Ha out of the story. It was sad because all of them looked forward to that day! That talk between Do San and DM was so sweet! 🥰

DS and DM learned the truth about Yong San’s brother and Ji Pyeong was dragged into the mess. I mean come on, he IS their mentor and he HAS to act like one too. After contemplating, he finally said that the team has themselves to blame as no one thought about re-checking the contract before signing! Seriously, people should do that! IRL, Breaking contract is a BIG DEAL! 🤔

And the one that broke my heart: JP finally learned about Noongil’s significance! That’s why DS was mad, he can’t just throw away that project! Its for Halmeoni for goodness sake!! 😭 Kim Seon Ho nailed that scene with Halmeoni, it was perfect!! 😭 Now I am hoping that JP/DS will be partners for Noongil! Please, jebal! Enough of them punching (*though they still look hawt despite their bruises, why is that, seriously 🤪)

DM. Aww. She has some good points today. Can people stop treating her like a kid? That scene with JP (*eating noodles, again 🙈) was great. She is Samsan’s CEO, she needs to learn the facts even though the truth hurts, most of the time. Adults deal about it, like all the time! And being the adult she is, she just knew what card she needs to pull on DS to push him to go to Silicon Valley! And it worked! Painful as it is (Both cried so much it hurts 🥺), I think it was a good decision for them to go on separate ways. But some beanies pointed out, why not try the Long Distance Relationship?! Right?! Haha. *reminds myself That ofcourse its kdrama — separation is a must!! 🤨

So glad that in the end, she proved how resilient she is! Pride aside, she just has to thrive! Thanks to JP’s prodding, it was a good choice!! I want more of In Jae! I hope they’d bond in the coming episodes (*oh on these last 4 episodes 😣 come on 🤷🏻‍♀️)

DS, you are a genius!! You can’t see it yourself but you are gold!! The walk in the rain showed much he truly cares for DM and how she matters to him. But turned out he didn’t see the rainbow! Whoa. The writing’s good when pointing things out for the characters to see. Maybe, he will not see the rainbow NOW but maybe later or maybe not in Korea. Soon, things will fall into its rightful place, at the right time too! 🤗

And I am Still loving this show!! 💯
Looking forward for the time jump next week! Can’t wait to see DS and the boys being so cool and with so much swaaaag! 😎😎😎Haha.

Its round 2 for Injae Company vs Samsan Tech. I somehow expected Father Nam to attend the Demo Day! Finally, appa wholeheartedly supports DS and his endeavors, including his decision to let DM head their group; of course appa was impressed! 🙃 I love that family scene at Nam’s home after!! 🥰

IJ is her usual intellectual self but DM has stepped up, more confident this time! But DS came out to be the hero who saved the day with his brilliance, he nailed it! 💯

So Alex came in wanting to INVEST in Samsan with whooping 3billion offer! I mean, who wouldn’t want that?! That’d be in Silicon Valley, for 3 years! Though that part in the elevator was too shady to miss right? 🤔
Something’s up for sure! 🧐

Our Samsan buddies end up at the original office they had. I am happy that DS is slowly but surely opens to DM with who he is. I was hoping they’ve had more arguments as a group about the offer from Alex though but of course a big sum of money and opportunity is on the line so I guess of course, what’s to think right? 🤭

JP has been MIA in this episode. He felt guilty! But come on! A mentor got to do what he needs to do even if that includes some tough love. And businesstalk is not some “walk in a park” activity and we all know what he had to go through before reaching his current state so I know that he means well. I hope that he’ll get through this because I think he is a great mentor! Not to mention he is a great dude not for DM but because I ship him for ourselves Beanies! 😎 Will be here for you JP! Haha! Will he be ever save Samsan tech again though? 🧐

And DM. She picked THAT ONE FINALLY?! 😍

    I woke up thinking how blessed NDS is. He has such a great support structure with his friends, parents and extended family. Overcoming his insecurities, becoming his own person, attaining success and making money. That’s the struggle of HIS youth (given the start-up brief). Dalmi is merely his deus machina.

Anyone up for a short film set during this pandemic?

A story about Sung Hyun (KIM JOO HUN) returning to South Korea from France and had to undergo quarantine for 2 weeks as per health protocols. While on quarantine, which I know most of us can identify with, we get to see how he dealt with the untact (coined term in SK for No Contact 🤔). Then we meet Soo Jin (KIM GO EUN) as an active youtube vlogger. I love that she used the OST of the Classic, Me to You, You to Me for her vlogs! Haha!

The entire film was shot thru Samsung Galaxy S20 and it didn’t shy away from glaring PPL views of Samsung products (but of course its a promotional film for samsung 😅🤣). Hehe. Its a very quiet movie, almost a documentary but still, I am shamelessly plugging this for my love to Go Eun. Hahaha.

Chief Kim/Good Manager: Insights 🧐

It was crazy-fun ride and so happy I picked it up after so many years! 😝 Whoa! Now I know why it was so loved in 2017 and bagged BEST DRAMA in the 30th Korea Producer Awards in 2018 ! Haha! *sorry, 2017 was the busiest year for me! 🙈

A typical underdog story that started with this ambitious, sleek and smooth talker, Manager Kim from Gunsan. He works diligently though not too honestly, to realize his dream — to live in Denmark! 🇩🇰

I couldn’t imagine any other actor as Manager Kim other than Namgoong Min! Haha! I’ve read an article that this role was initially offered to Cha Tae Hyun. Min nailed his role here! A complete 360° turn from his role in Stove League (I love him to bits there too, I highly recommend that show too!!) 🙃

A lot of mishaps happened but eventually led him to work in TQ — a whitecollar job he never dreamed of working nor staying! Haha! There he meets our underdog team of Accounting: Team Leader Choo, Asst Yoon, Lee Jae Joon, Won Ki Ok, Bing Hee Jin AND KIM.SEON.HO (Twas his debut in TV show, repeatedly heard this from him in 2DN1🤣 I had time just now, sorry 😉). You’ll see in the show that UNDERDOG TEAM is an UNDERSTATEMENT for these guys. 😁 Haha. We also have Hong Ga Eun as an Intern in the Finance department who is a great ally to our team. 😉

Since Manager Kim’s Day1 at work, it was not a good start for everyone in the team nor to anyone who’s working in TQ. 🙈

Then we meet our team of antagonists lead by Chairman Park with his allies: Directors Jo and Ko, AAAAND Prosecutor turned Director Seo Yul. 😈

I already loved Junho in Just Between Lovers and in Twenty (movie) but wow, him acting as hot and cold antagonist, I was so impressed and thrilled! I want more of him in this role! 🙈 Haha! Cant wait for him to finish his mandatory military service next year!

It was a lengthy 20 episodes (my only complain in this show though?) full of action, comedy gold and triumph worthy scenes!! It has a lot of moving scenes too; the show consistently dealt on how do you measure one’s goodness and loyalty, what greed does to a person and how thick blood in the family runs? Oh I love the character development of our main leads and the supporting cast! A really superb team chemistry too! It was an ensemble 😄

I’d give it a 🟢 to anyone needing an inspirational show with a dash of comedy and life! 👌🤩

    So many discoveries in this drama for me: Kim Seon-ho, Dong-ha, and of course Junho (I couldn’t believe he was an idol – Gluttonous Sociopath for the win! 🍕). Actually not many beanies watched it back in 2017, but we successfully promoted the drama afterwards. The drama also won Best Couple LOL 😅

    Kim Seon-ho as the office maknae was so cute in his glasses and bowl-cut hair.

    Chief Kim is one of the best shows EVER, with the best love-at-first-sight scene I have ever seen in a show. Along with many many other things done exceptionally well.

    I’ve watched this show recently and I loved it. It’s probably the best office drama I watched (although Familiar Wife office was also really good), but what made the difference for me was NGM. He was stellar and perfect. And him and Lee Junho together was this beanie Paradise!

    And of course even more unrealistic than the whole drama… my gosh is it so easy to get in DMZ? hahaha.
    But even so, I liked it a lot. I had lots of fun watching, and Lee Hyun Wook totally stole the show!!

I had a few good laughs in this episode! 🤣

Or maybe I was expecting a broody episode. 🙊 The PD/writerNim did a great job of push and pull from the sunshine and rain! 😅

I am truly happy that Ji Pyeong admitted he wrote those letters, with Halmeoni and all those crazy idea of finding the real Do San. JP defended DS, saying that NOT ALL were lies but Dal Mi is mad to even hear every word of it. I mean, OF COURSE, she\’ll be mad. I am mad. But boy, JP might\’ve felt relieved (ME.THINKS.SO) in admitting he\’s the one sending the letters as I literally facepalmed myself WHEN HE CONFESSED. THERE. WHILE EATING NOODLES! 🙈🙉🙊 *he did it so casually, I laughed o so hard!! 🙃

Haha! Our girl\’s STILL devastated and obviously confused and he just confessed his feelings, adding that there\’s no pressure in answering him back. I wanted him to be the best man heere! I even wished for an Oppa/Dongsaeng with him and DM since forevee but he pushed it over THAT way! That he came out as, a little too cocky? 🙈 Anyway, that leaves us to our poor Do San 🤧

He\’s followed DM like a puppy, with those puffy eyebags because he has literally cried a lot this hour 🥺🥺
That scene in the bar has me cracking up til now!!! I won\’t spoil it to anyone who hasn\’t seen it yet but it was comedy gold! I love the nerdy DS and his scientific arguments! 🤣🤣🤣

I applaud DS in finally realizing that being himself isn\’t bad. I loved the metaphors used in that SUIT! It makes sense! He can never truly love someone when he himself can\’t love himself yet, right? And coming to realize that he too can be a plan B for both Samsan tech and DM, I mean, WHY NOT?!👌

AND THAT CLIFFHANGER. 🙊🤧

Sidenote:
Sa Ha\’s was a little bit way over the top playing Chul San that I was actually glad, he called her out. *music que: Quit playing games with my heart 🙉

    Maybe Do-san doesn’t want to be a Plan B, rather that he’d be (successful) enough so there would be no need for a Plan B? (Make sure she won’t fall off the tightrope so the safety net would not be needed)

    I thought Ji-pyeong’s confessions were the end of the triangle, kinda like Jung-hwan’s, but I guess not yet *sigh*

          Yes to this! I am so over shipping wars! The love triangle indeed has been going on forever. I want the business arc to come, family reunion (if any, I don’t know 🤷‍♀️), to learn more about Sand box because that way, Dad’s death will not be in vain. 🤷‍♀️

    I didn’t laugh at the scene when JiPyeong confessed. I actually cried, because he’s being honest and he’s giving DalMi her space and isn’t pushing.
    Telling DoSan that he might need his past to get DalMi was totally out of character to me in JiPyeong. It’s the only moment of the drama where I didn’t like him at all.
    I didn’t like DoSan following and almost stalking DalMi. As they are our OTP, it will be ok, but I don’t like the way DoSan breaks boundaries while JiPyeong respects them.
    I hate how InJae is being treated: so she’s the mean sister because she lied about the girl in the swing. Well, that’s the only lied he told in a drama full of liars, first one being DalMi.
    And I want someone to explain to me why halmoni hasn’t even tried to reach InJae. Does anyone have a rational answer to this? She’s even protecting the woman who dumped his son, but we’re on episode 10 and she hasn’t tried to get in touch with InJae.

      Regarding halmoni, I think her anger towards the sisters’ mom got transferred to In-jae, as she also chose to be with the mom for whatever reason, so that was why she didn’t contact her. That is my take regarding this question.

      Though I agree with most of your points, for me, I liked Ji-pyeong in that scene so much – the scene that he specifically told Do-san that he no longer could use the past he himself shared with Dal-mi. I think that was true to his character. Now he knows that he loves Dal-mi and wants her for himself, this becomes a love war so I think it was fair enough that he said that to Do-san no matter how heart-breaking that was. Do-san also got a chance to see himself out of the ‘Do-san in the letter’ light. I love how honest Ji-pyeong is. And I’m so glad that the show gave him that scene, to be himself, to be honest – to be real to his feelings.

      Even if he doesn’t end up with FL, that confession scene and the scene he talked with Do-san really put both of them at the same length from Dal-mi. I call that a fair play, and now no matter who will win Dal-mi’s heart, there won’t be any objection from me.

      P.S. Just a side note, I think Do-san is the end game 100% when the show gave us the ‘Plan B’ ‘I will make sure she never needs a plan B’ thing from Ji-pyeong and Do-san respectively. Another thing is that now it seems like Ji-pyeong has another thing to take care of and that seals the deal -he won’t have much time to pursue Dal-mi.

            Cyrano de Bergerac was a famous French poet and writer in the 17th century, as an anecdote he had a very big nose.
            In 1897 another French writer, Edmund Rostand, wrote a play loosely based on his life. Cyrano is in love with his cousin, Roxane, which is young and beautiful. As he is intelligent, brave and admired (he’s a soldier), he wants to confess but doesn’t because he has a complex because of his big nose.
            One day a new cadet arrives, he’s young and beautiful, but awful with words. Roxane and Christian meet and fall in love with each other and they began to exchange letters. As Christian’s letters are awful, Cyrano helps him by writing in those letters his true feelings for Roxane.
            A war happens and Cyrano and Christian must go and fight in it and ultimately Christian dies, while Cyrano assures him, it’s Christian the one she loves, even if she had told him that she would love the person who wrote those letters even if he was ugly.
            After the war, Roxane enters a convent because she says she can’t love another man and Cyrano pays her visits every week, until he’s attacked by some opponents that hit his head with a stone. He died by Roxane side, and only then she realises it was him the one who wrote the letters.
            There are many film and theatre adaptations of this play, I would highly recommend the 1990 French version starring Gerard Depardieu.

Oh I just wish he told her he was the one writing those letters and those letters were his true feelings for him but I guess that would pit both Christiana and Roxane in a very difficult situation. Let me change this: I wish he didn’t write those letters for Christian.

      I actually laughcry at JP’s confession because maybe it was so out of character? For me, he has been good in keeping his emotions intact and that straightup confession, wow it blew me out! The livewatch party last night were all squeeing because we didn’t expect it to happen, real fast though! But JP’s way was consistent with him being no nonsense person and gave it up, straight to the point 👌🏼
      And Do San. Well, it was stalking right. I don’t even know about it anymore, I just want them (OTP) to get over with and just be together! I want other issues to be dealt with too! And yes! The arc of In Jae, for me, needed to be addressed! What happened to her in that Woo household? And what’s Halmeoni’s take on her too? Urgh. 6 episodes left and we need more answers.

Whoa! This episode was a lot to take! 🙈

Starting off with DO SAN: finally, the writer has shed us some light on what is his deal?! Growing up with low self-esteem is really, really difficult. 😔 I truly know and felt what DS have been through. Easier said than done, overcoming this issue is extremely difficult. People around DS adored him because he is the genius one and as a child, one doesn\’t want to disappoint these people. But the same people aren\’t interested on WHAT, HOW he feels in \”winning\” it. I think this is why it is important to be gentle with kids, if something is wrong we shouldn\’t be approaching them with threats or whatnot. What difference would it be if DS was able to trust his parents when he was young and was able to be honest that time? It would be a BIG CHANGE — I think he\’d be more confident about himself and in what he plans to do. But sadly and painfully, he had to carry those insecurities to adulthood. DS saying the line, \”I totally forgot that I correctly answered 9 questions out of 10.\” You don\’t forget that DO SAN, you are EXCELLENT! So I am actually thankful for his great friends, Yong San and Chul San for giving tough but caring love to our DS! I am rooting for DS to be able to overcome things and what with the storm coming. 🙆‍♀️

Now, JIN PYEONG. Aw, he OFFICIALLY landed to SLS 😭🤧
It was bound to happen!!! That outburst with Halmeoni 😢😭🤧, is this why you cried for 13hours?!
Mad on why does he need to be the goodboy (read: ALWAYS SACRIFICING HIMSELF) but eventually BEING that goodboy that he is, led him to meeting Dal Mi in that beautiful cherryblossom street! 🌸
I am rooting that JP will be the one telling the WHOLE STORY to DM. Please just give him that, writernim! He deserves some beating but I believe,  some heartfelt thanks too from DM. I just don\’t want him to be the \”dude-who-didnt-get-the-girl\”!, HE SERIOUSLY IS MORE THAN THAT! 🤧 I would like to believe that he felt jealous because he was never given the credit on how awesome he made this LetterDoSan who is actually living a great life with DM 🙈

Overall, I just want them 3 to overcome this issue so we can resume the bickering and bromance between JP/DS WITHOUT WORRIES!!

And we need to delve more into the other issues of this show: Injae and her company, that lurking revenge person, Mom possibly applying for Halmeoni\’s business (urgh I hate Mom), I think Alex is interesting too and many more!!

        Hmm, I also agree with @mmmmm emoji for the characters here. The mom is so opportunistic and so gross with how she flaunts her wealth. She’s like living in La La Land with her obliviousness to money. How did Dad ever marry and have children with someone like her???!

        Is Halmoni really that good natured though? She’s the one who started the lie, and it effected everyone else. While her intentions are good, the way she dismissed JP’s feelings for DM was just nope…and the way she wants to continue the lie despite the cost to DM in the long term.

I didn’t like her when she was in the room on the phone, and the maids were in the background cleaning up. Or the scene in Ep 9, when she says to someone who actually needs a job to go find it elsewhere. She could just sell her LV/Birkin. At least give those scenes to In-jae, cause she needs more characterization rn. She’s coming across as a cold and privileged rich woman.

    Han Ji-pyeong: I never ever had 2nd lead syndrome, altho he feels like the main lead sometimes. But wow, I’ve SLS here and it hurts BADLY!! Ep 8 and afterwards got me thinking, and honestly his character and really KSH himself has stolen my heart <3 I hate that its implying that he's going to sacrifice himself for Dal-mi's happiness in spite of his. Just a tragic character overall, always doing the most for everyone but getting paid in dirt at the end :((

        I don’t care for the mom character, I wish they did it like Into the Ring, and sometimes realize that parents are toxic and should be cut out if you feel so. I’m sensing a reunion, gags. I mean, she left her daughter/not in contact with her for decades?! And now she wants to talk, give me a break woman.

        At least give her silly scenes over to In-jae, who hasn’t been given much characterization despite an interesting subplot…

        As for SLS: I didn’t feel it until Ep 8 (Which was ideally HJP centric episode), but really it was in Ep 6 when he said all these amazing technical terms and advice to Samsan Tech and SDM. It was super hot ngl lol. He looked uber confident, and altho it may’ve been frank, he was staying helpful/inspiring words to them. KSH better get a nomination at the Baeksang’s Best New Actor TV category for this role!!!

            Ugh esp. Ep 10. Like listen its good that you finally realized what your deceased husband said to you. But man, I rme’d hard seeing her try to get back into that household despite leaving with her other daughter/cutting off contact with Dal-mi for over 10 yrs. Like that’s not something that can be repaired that easily, so shameless imo. At least give those scenes to In-jae!!

            He really should! Every actor is doing a great job, but KSH as HJP is legit iconic imo! They say an actor makes the role iconic, and that’s what he’s doing here. If someone other than KSH played the role, I don’t think I’ll love him as much as I do. He better get that nomination/win for Start Up.

The last 2 episodes were so overwhelming, I am still reeling from it!! 🙈 whaaaa!!

But to sum it up, YEON WOO JIN stole this show! I’ve seen it coming but felt sad that HE HAD TO GO THROUGH THAT! He doesn’t deserve that painful path 🥺 The shock on Sgt Yong’s face, I felt bad for him too. But 1st Lt Lee did a great job there! I’d be cheering for you! 🙆🏻‍♀️
