Watched Move to Heaven while waiting for my checkup results and some grandmas comforted me thinking I was very sick. I couldn’t stop crying! It felt so good! 2021 has been good so far!

        1

That is quite a list! Meanwhile, I shud finish Vincenzo but decided I needed to know the office layout of Gyeoroo in Romance Is a Bonus Book for no solid reason other than I want to know it. I’ve ended up rewatching RIABB (after checking the office layout) – am on episode 10 now 🤦🏻‍♀️

    1
    1

Hahaha! I do that with Law School when I just want to rewatch OTP scenes but end up watching the whole ep. I finished Vincenzo last weekend and I really enjoyed it! I haven’t watched RIABB yet but it’s on my list too. So many dramas, so little time!

NAVILLERA

Have you ever experienced being unable to cry even though your heart is feeling heavy and your world is falling apart? That no matter what the world hurls at you, you try to keep it in and stay strong. Then someone comes to comfort you and suddenly all the walls you built around you collapse and the tears just won’t stop? And after that tight hug, you feel so much better and ready to take on life’s next challenge. That’s how Navillera is for me. It allows me to cry freely and gives me hope that there will be better days.

This drama isn’t only about Haraboji’s childhood dream, nor is it only about Chae-rok’s big dreams. This drama tells us that when you’re exhausted, it’s okay to take a rest. It tells us to find something that makes us smile every day. That sometimes, life doesn’t give us what we want because it isn’t what we need. This drama shows that people make mistakes but when they do their best to make it right, then it’s possible to start again. That sports do more than entertain us, it teaches us life lessons too. This drama shows us that no dream is too small or too big for someone who’s passionate. This drama gives people hope and that no matter who steps on, belittles, or laughs at our dreams, it’s ours and no one can take it away from us.

This drama shows that it’s not blood that makes people a family, it’s LOVE.

To my Navi Family who made crying over this drama fun: M, Eazal, Lakes, and Joy,
To every Beanie who watched and posted about this,
To everyone who is struggling right now,
I hope that we are surrounded by the right people and that we have a Haraboji who can show us things which are beyond what we see.

P.S. Sorry for being overdramatic. I’m just full of emotions these days.
Warm hugs, Beanies and stay safe!

💜

This is perfect. What a great way to sum up how wonderfully cathartic this drama is.

Your words are absolutely perfect and a warm hug, Purple. I’m grateful I could watch, cry and cheer along with our Navi family, and with all the Beanies who love this drama! Now that we have seen such a sterling example, maybe we can learn to be “haraboji,” too – both in reaching for what gives us joy and in encouraging the people we love to soar, too.

    This is beautiful Purp.
It’s even more beautiful when you mentioned me first *proud* *quirky smile*

Kidding Beans I love you all. Cheers to our lovely, chaotic Navil family.

You summed it up well Purple.

Some shows I watched and later wanted those hours of my life back cough cough looking at you Sisyphus
but these are 12 hours I want to share with other people. But no one in my real life will watch shows with subtitles!

So glad I can weep with all of you here.

Purple, I subscribe every and each word you wrote, because I feel them all. Watching this drama with you all has been such a beautiful experience… I wonder if I could have felt this attached to the drama if I hadn’t watched with you and felt that special bond we shared every time we read “crying” on the chat.
You made this experience even more meaningful.

@purplesheesh Your beautiful post summed up why this drama is so beautiful. I also wish you and your loved ones all the best! ♥♥

LEE KWANG SOO IS LEAVING RUNNING MAN. MY HEART HURTS SO MUCH.

9
9

I tried to keep my tears as I’m at work but I couldn’t. And now everyone here is laughing at me for crying over something so “petty”. You don’t know how important Running Man is for me. I’ve been watching the show since July 2010 and I’ve never missed a single episode. My family bonded over watching it and Gary’s departure hit me hard too. The cancellation also broke my heart. And now this. I do understand Kwang Soo’s reason because their health is our priority but right now, I just want to cry. LET ME CRY IN PEACE.

I haven’t watched as long as you, but it definitely made me pause because I can’t think how the show will be without him. Health first, of course. But it’s really sad! I say cry all you want!!

Go ahead and cry, Purple! No one gets to decide what’s petty or worth crying about except you. We all have our reasons as to why things matter. (((hug)))

Running in chaos season 2 is coming really soon.

In other topic, i think hes getting married.🤷‍♀️

    1
    1

I don’t think marriage interferes with the career of men especially in variety. I mean Haha got married during the show but he is still doing movies so maybe he’s quitting because RM is more extensive. Though I too think there’s sth else than the injury.

Sorry but I have to drop Oh! Master and Law School. I need to make time for better dramas. Hope Undercover is good.

Am a bit gutted that it doesn’t seem Undercover will be on Viki, at least not while airing. I would have loved to give that one a live watch. I hope it’s great!

Where can we watch Undercover? Apparently not on Viki or Netflix.

It is on the dark side. I looked at all the sites and found it on dr**ma***ho**d. But right now it’s raw.

I love Navillera so much. After I watched it, I found myself more empathetic to old people.

14
3

Me, too, Purple. To be more specific, I think I’m emphatic more toward my parents.

    5
    0

Yesterday’s episode really showed that our elder dancer is really the heart and soul of the show and he will be the healing force in everyone else’s life.

I developed a love for elders when my parents moved into an assisted living place. When I’d go see them I started visiting with the other residents and fell in love with their stories and personalities.
But it was when they lived in a memory care place that I really fell in love with elders.

It seems the older we get the more those ‘filters’ that we use to shield ourselves fade away. We become the condensed version of who we really are.

    Navillera touches me so deeply.

Not a fan of legal dramas but LAW SCHOOL IS AWESOME!!! I can\’t take my eyes off the screen for the entire episode. Wow!
Also, Kim Bum is the best F4.

Oh, I also bought a cheap tablet for my drama watching needs (to screenshot Netflix) and I love it but it hurts so much whenever I drop it on my face. I now have a mouth sore from the recent one.

Drama Updates

Currently Watching
Navillera- I love this. Ep 7 left us in tears. Tagging @mmmmm and @astrojoy and @carlybisek on this one. I’m relieved that this only has 12 eps which means that they won’t drag the story.

Oh! Master- This drama is CUTE. I love Nana, she’s so pretty and adorable. Her giggles are so cute. Lee Minki is Lee Min Ki but every time I see him, I see Shin Sung Rok as well (they could play Psycho bros in a different drama). I love the Moms and Record Store Ahjussi. I am annoyed by Nana’s assistant and 2ML.

You Are My Hero- Last two episodes were put on hold for a special day. I can’t let go of this drama. It gives me kilig and happiness to watch the OTP. I love how there are no noble idiocy and angst.

3MAD Mountain Village- As someone who enjoyed Sky Castle, I enjoy seeing this side of them. They’re relatable and adorable. I found myself wanting to live in the countryside as well and plant vegetables and raise chickens. Also, Park So Dam is wise beyond her years.

Completed
Youn Stay- I was so sad to go into my Saturday without this so I was so happy to see this on Na PD’s channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZp2KN4mP88 (Go watch it, it’s cute!)

On Hold
Just Between Lovers- I love this show so much BUT with my current state of mind, it isn’t best for me to watch this show as I feel so much pain from seeing them in pain. Tempted to ff to all their cute scenes but will definitely pick this back up when I’m feeling better.

Vincenzo- Mom and Dad call me on Monday mornings to talk about this drama. When I told them I put it on hold, Dad scolded me and bombarded me with spoilers just to make me watch again. He was annoyed to know that he had to wait for two more weeks to watch the next eps so I recommended Fiery Priest to him. He thought it was Fairy Priest and declined the suggestion. I told him it was from the same writer, he asked my sister to find it on Viu and Netflix. 😂

Your mom and dad are so cute. I’m also looking around for a quick fix while waiting for Vincenzo XD

    7
    1

One of his spoilers was “Taec was the bad guy” which I’ve already watched. Another was that the OTP kissed and it was so kilig and I said, “Yup, saw that on Twitter”.

      Any recs?

      4
      1

I think the last 15 min sequence of ep 16 is the sequence I’ve seen in Vincenzo. I’ve been looping this part nonstop (:P). In the next 2 weeks, I think I might check the psycho elf boy Saya in Arthdal Chronicles just for fun. I’ve been eyeing Oh! Master and Beyond Evil as well.

Purp.. I cried so hard last night. If we can do it again today that’d be so good since I just discovered I like crying with other people 😢. Crying is infectious; that was why I cried so much yesterday it was because you had started crying! 🤪

No I take that back i don’t like crying that hard; I mean what’s wrong with the writer why was he/she so melodramatic? I’d have chosen other ways to go with the story; this is just too heartbreaking and for me unnecessarily painful. 😔

    1
    2

When people know their days are numbered, that’s the time when they start living. It’s probably what pushed our Favorite Haraboji to pursue ballet.

      2

I don’t know what happened, but this is why I felt hesitant about watching a drama with an elderly person… THE LIGHT IN YOUR EYES almost killed me with the twist.

That’s another one in my watchlist as I adore Jung Yumi. I’ll probably watch it after Navillera.

It was so painful to watch at times Toki, but I also can’t say it isn’t THAT GOOD. The story itself is so beautiful, but you know.. part of me wants it to be less heartbreaking.

Me too in drama slump since Mr Queen and Run On ended. Nothing excited me although Sisyphus was on the list but all the reviews so far suggested it’s a big no despite CSW …. sigh!

I’m re-watching Misaeng which is even more sublime the second time round, so very good but not one for bingeing.

I also had a wonderful time re-watching My Boss and Me, lovely guilty pleasure. Then by association I ff-watched The Story of Ming Lan which is also a great drama.

But, but I want to fall in love with a new kdrama. Why so hard?

      1
      1

Dear PYC I think the interesting new ones are on the way. I heard that the one starring Kim Ji-seok (if I spell his name correctly, the lead of Mu Unfamiliar Family) is premiering soon, and another one having Nana and Lee Min-ki as the leads are also on the way (24th May) (Beanies in Discord hyped about this one so much I remember the premiere date now.) I also think the one about a grandpa wanting to learn ballet looks pretty cute. I might also check that one out.

I want something good, light and optimistic. I need a new happy pill. Please, dramagod, send just one for me.

I liked this melo a lot. Except for the last 2 eps where the (usual) speed up and extra stuff was unnecessary, IMO, but you’ll figure out for yourself when get there. Overall, it’s still in my top 10, and probably the best melo I have watched so far.

I wasn\’t able to post much cause this whole month is turning out to be quite a busy one. My last entry is dedicated to the love of my life.

I am with someone who I have been with for the past 9 years. He\’s the kindest and most patient man I\’ve ever met.

I once needed a desk for my online work so we searched everywhere for one. When we couldn\’t find any that suits my needs, he made one for me.

He\’s an introvert but he messaged (and met up with) my high school, university, and work friends so he can send me letters for my birthday.

He used to listen to me talk about the dramas I\’m watching even though I\’m 100% sure that he doesn\’t understand it. I do appreciate that he asks me questions about it even though I\’m also positive that he doesn\’t care either. He was so happy when I told him about DB and Discord.

He supports my fangirling and drama watching. \”New ep available\” means that I\’d reply to his messages an hour late. \”Will binge\” means that I can\’t accept calls for the day. He respects my \”me-time\” and never demands anything.

He\’s the reason why I don\’t wish for a Male Lead for myself. He\’s the reason why MLs like Gu Jun Pyo and Kim Tan don\’t attract me anymore. Good guys exist. They may not be as handsome as Lee Min Ho but they\’re out there.

I hope we could find someone or something which can make our hearts smile. And when we find them, may we always have the strength to keep them forever.

Happy Valentine\’s Day, Beanies. 💜

Realized late that there’ll be no new Run On episodes anymore 😭😭😭

I love people.
I am never shy.
I look forward to gatherings because I get to meet new people.
I’m the type of person who smiles at strangers. (same reason why I was scammed twice)
I wave at kids and play with them.
I compliment people when they’re trying out clothes in shops.
I assist tourists when they seem lost.
I’m not afraid to start conversations when queueing.
I enjoy hosting events where people interact.
Then COVID came.
I was forced to stay inside and deal with myself.
I talked to myself a lot, heh.
I laughed at my jokes and thought of new ones too.
I knew something has to change so I started logging in on DB again.
And I finally get to meet new people.
And virtually smile at strangers.
I play with Beanies.
And congratulate those who have leveled up.
I try my best to help out.
And I have the drama trivia nights which take my stress away!

Another shoutout to this amazing community.
Love, February!

OKAY. I’M CREEPY. I JUST REALIZED IT WHILE REREADING THIS!!!

Most people hate going to work. They look forward to their rest days at the start of the workweek. My friends tell me that they envy the fact that I’m excited for work to start again.
I love rest days too since they’re my drama days.

Co-teachers asking me to do their work because I’m “better” at it is tiring.
The bosses expecting me to work overtime every day is exhausting.
The students surmising that I will never get angry no matter what they do.

Only that, I can’t say no cause I know they need me.
And I actually end up working overtime.
I also rarely get angry which is entirely my fault.

But I get tired too…

And when I get tired, I rest.
And do what I want.
Which is watching dramas and talk to people online.
And for that, I thank you.

Love,
February

You can get tired at your job even if you love it. Love does not necessarily have to be tied to relaxation and freeing your soul, work is consuming both physically and mentally. So, you don’t need to overwork or always facilitate others to manifest your love of this job. Cut yourself some slack and watch lots of dramas.

    9
    1

I already am. Dramas recharge me. I want my tiredness to be solely physical and mental so I’m doing my best not to feel burned-out.

To my fellow colleague, I understand you ☺️.
Though I’m a bit tired with work sometimes, the strange thing about being a teacher/lecturer for me is that it’s never a tiring job. My students are, most of the times, my source of happy energy. They’re full of positive vibe. Having said that, though trying to be kind I need to be firm too. Then they will know what to expect of me and I of them.

Sending you lots of positive vibe. 💕

    5
    1

I agree! Teaching is something I am really passionate about. Seeing my kids fills my heart. I have to work on being firm.

Thanks for the positive vibes, I need it!

      3
      0

I’m tired too. Today I found myself apologizing at work to coworkers for not being as positive as I usually am… which confused them. 😛

    5
    1

Time teaches us to deal with tiredness. At least it has taught me. Now I know my limits are lower than they used to be 10 years ago. Even so, when that time comes, I also find comfort in dramas, books and chatting online.
And I can always rely on my favourite bot who’s tired but willing to prepare quiz questions!
