11 Feb is International Day of Women and Girls in Science!!!
Some background: In 2016, the UN declared 11 February as International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The main reason for this declaration was to encourage more girls and women to take up jobs in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (also known as the STEM subjects). Figures show that although there is no significant difference in ability between boys and girls in maths and science, less than 35 per cent of graduates in STEM subjects worldwide are women and there are even fewer in engineering and information technology.
Kudos to the amazing women who dared to discover and to more ladies in STEM! 👩🏻🔬👩🏻🔧👩🏻💻🧬🧫🔬💊🛠
Love, February (again 🤭)
Today, we're joining @UNESCO in celebrating all the amazing #WomenInScience who dared to discover!
Their achievements changed the world forever & blazed the trail for girls around the world to follow.
Yay! 100% this! Also, this was the fist year in the US where females made up the majority of 1st year medical school attendees! Having a girl who is totally going in a STEM career, I. love this!

Yes! I’m so proud of the women that paved the way and my science teachers who encouraged me to study this further!
