Dear My Friends – I’d forgotten how wonderful this drama is. I especially appreciate the older actresses just living these characters. I wish there were more of these slice of life dramas with room for the older actors and actresses to show their stuff.
Are you really up for spoilers?

From what I recall the FL was definitely in a better spot than where she started in that she embraced her independence and who she was. And the OTP sailed in a very understated way. The little girl was the highlight of the show for me though!
I watched it. I don’t remember much that happened in between. Do you want to know how it really ends? Or just a bit of info like happy, vague or sad ending?
This is among my favorite dramas that I rewatch every now and then when I think I need a melo or Jang Hyuk fix. It’s a beautiful drama that ended on a positive note.
It’s a 2007 drama and I don’t think it has aged much. Gong Hyo-Jin was so natural in that role to portray the innocence, vulnerability and resilience. Thirteen years later, I found myself unable to watch her in When Camellia Blooms because I’ve seen the superior version in Thank You and it’s “acting” in WCB. And I have been a GHJ fan until WCB.
Thank You really is a lovely low key drama, well written and well acted. I haven’t seen the ending yet, but so far it’s been wonderful. Thank you for your feedback.
For those into the Contract Marriage trope, Brilliant Heritage has a new (to me) take on it. You might find it interesting…although it is one of those 120 episode daily soaps in the oldest makjang tradition.
I’m half-way watching it and didn’t realize it was a daily drama! I guess because I only watch the last 2 (So the last hour) on Sunday. I really thought it was a weekend drama…mmm, learn something new every day.
I really can’t stand the father. In the last episode I watched, he was dumping on the responsible son because he didn’t help make up for his brother’s shortcomings. The father also told him if he wanted to move to leave his daughter there. Huh? Where I go, she goes. Even though the daughter said for her dad to move so he could have a life 😥. Idk, I’m trying to hold on for the contract marriage (because that is my ultimate catnip) but that father is making it so hard because he’s so mean.
The father is angry with his third son because of the four(?) life insurance taken out on the father without the father’s knowledge. It was just to help out his salesman friend in need… The son still should have told his father. Most often, I think a decent talk would resolve misunderstandings like this, but in this case I’m not sure because the relationship was already pretty bad …
It’s among my all time favorites but it may not be everyone’s cup of tea. In a nutshell, it’s a slice of life drama about people living in the margin – an ensemble piece with memorable characters whose up and down are what this story is about. A mix of tears and laughters.
It’s a gem, kind of like the drama version of the J movie Shoplifters. It also turns me into a fan of Kim’s Ok-bin who’s as cool as a cucumber.
Try a few episodes and see how you like it – make it to at least Ep 3 to get a grasp. It’s not a drama suitable for binging but perhaps one or two episodes per day.
In top 10 of my all time fave drama list. Like PYC said it’s not for everyone. I absolutely loved it though to the extent I was watching it without subs because I was so impatient!
The characters felt like real people who you might know in real life. Great acting!
Also loved the use of flashbacks. Very different from how usual dramas use it.
Usually Mon-Tue drama’s are short tho. But since you put it in your top 10, I might just give it a try. Since you’ve watched it, can you tell me how long each episode is?
I’ve been a jTBC fangirl since launch because they bring so much varieties to dramaland and their in house production company treats their staffs well.
Waikiki – going through it the first time. I got to the pork rib slap scene, and I started wondering how many different slaps there have been in kdramas? What l’ve scene so far:
1 Basic palm slap (too many to count or remember)
2. Kimchi slap (too old to remember)
3. Seaweed slap (WWWS)
4. Pork rib slap (Waikiki)
Just be careful because people are going crazy from being in lock down! Actually I’ve just been talking about this with the microwave and toaster while drinking coffee and we all agreed that things are getting bad. I didn’t mention anything to the washing machine as she puts a different spin on everything. Certainly not to the fridge as he is acting cold and distant. In the end the iron straightened me out as she said everything will be fine, no situation is too pressing. The vacuum was very unsympathetic… told me to just suck it up, but the fan was more optimistic and hoped it would all soon blow over! The toilet looked a bit flushed when I asked its opinion and didn’t say anything but the door knob told me to get a grip. The front door said I was unhinged and so the curtains told me to ……..yes, you guessed it …..pull myself together
Copy and paste!!
I hope it made you smile

Books are letters in bottles, cast into the waves of time, from one person trying to save the world to another.
